This morning I will meet with my European counterpart to discuss the economic impact of the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and for a briefing by the Head of International Energy Agency on latest energy market developments and possible policy responses

Heartbroken for our Boys in Green. What a team. What a game. What a battle. Right till the very, very end. Full time, extra time, penalties. So proud of every single one of them and gutted for them too 🇮🇪

But we do know that, thanks to the resilience of the Irish economy, we have the capacity to act — and we are acting now to support those who need it most. 10/10

The Government will continue to monitor developments closely and stands ready to adjust its approach if required. It will not be easy, and we do not know when this conflict will end. 9/10

Through his decades with RTÉ, Michael brought professionalism, warmth and an unmistakable passion for sport into our homes. His anchoring of GAA coverage was unparalleled. It required great skill and more often than not - great patience.

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Michael Lyster. A proud Galway man, Michael was a giant of sports broadcasting in Ireland and was synonymous with RTÉ’s coverage of Gaelic games.

I welcome the S&P rating agency’s upgrade of Ireland’s long-term sovereign credit rating to AA+. The upgrade reflects their assessment that our strong economy, considerable fiscal buffers and record of sound fiscal management will help to mitigate the impact of external shocks.
