Archive dive: more from 2021 when I was cranking out c-41 negatives. I don't do much color today. I just don't feel it the way I used to, and tbh I got too many "like Eggleston/like Christenberry" comments about my work. Between that and the cost of color chems and film...well.

@SeanCrutchfiel6 I only saw your prior tweet about context and mystery after replying here. If you want me to explain myself further here won't that spoil the mystery? 😆 Sometimes mystery is good, sometimes answers are good. Personally I think too many photographers offer neither, just mirrors.

@NormundaProfils @phillipoKneen Scary 😅 I haven't photographed much hockey, but I do have a portrait of a Goalie I'm quite happy with. Probably closer to your "clones" than those dramatic ones you've shared?

@simonking_v @phillipoKneen In a similar vein, NHL shots were most interesting visually when the goalies wore their first original masks. Now you've got a stream of technically perfect shots that all look like they've been cloned.

@phillipoKneen IE, maybe your observation is more about the state of contemporary protest than contemporary photography?

@phillipoKneen There are some really fantastic images from those I agree - and I think those protests were definitely "spicier" than most of today's (outside of Paris maybe). Is it the content of the image you think is more original, or the aesthetic composition?
