Spent an hour with Caroline O’Connor @cazoconnor talking Sondheim, Broadway, ballet, Baz Luhrmann & singing to the dog in the ‘good’ lounge room. Funny, fearless, and gloriously honest. 🎧 bit.ly/InCon223 🎭 catch her in Sondheim’s Putting it Together at Foundry Theatre

I’ve known Brett Weymark for 20+ years — still funny, thoughtful & just a little cheeky. In this week’s In Conversation, he shares his journey from school singalongs to the Opera House stage. 🎧 bit.ly/InCon205 | 🎵 A Child of Our Time, Sep 13 @SydOperaHouse @sydphil

Our final 500 Yr Diary for this season was a surprising addition - as I suspect was the fact The Well ended up being a return to Midnight. Our musings below. Looking forward to a return later in the year…

The surprising return of a decades-old monster leads not only to the revision of a long-dormant TARDIS Wikia page, but also to an addition to the current season of 500 Year Diary. So join us for one more visit to Midnight — it’s The Well. #DoctorWho 500yeardiary.com/s2/e11/

@David_Kitchen_ Indeed. I never subscribed to the ‘recovery of part two made us reappraise the story’. Well, maybe I did reappraise it, as I think even less of it now!!

@David_Kitchen_ @FTEpodcast Thanks for the shout out! Though I think saying it’s ‘really’ underrated is a step too far… ‘a bit underrated’ will be perhaps do 😉

A story whose promise is let down by a succession of poor choices in its realisation and execution, is where I ended up landing in this, our take on the Season 21 opener Warriors of the Deep. Commence ignition Scibus!

This week, the Earth’s original inhabitants wake up from hibernation after about a decade, put on their best fibreglass vests and samurai outfits, and invade an undersea base at 0.5× speed. The Silurians and Sea Devils are back — but why? #DoctorWho 500yeardiary.com

@David_Kitchen_ @FTEpodcast Making fun of bringing back Omega was I think the correct view when we recorded this episode. And I suspect it still is the correct view…

@David_Kitchen_ @theDWshow I remain perplexed that Ambassadors doesn’t get more love. I was captivated seeing it in B&W in the 86 repeat run and have only come to love it more as the years have passed. For me it’s difficult to separate the quality of the S7 stories, they are all top drawer.
