Credit where it’s due @AklTransport. You cop a lot of criticism but I’ve been riding your buses to work the last few months and found the service excellent. Faster and cheaper than using my car. Great App, friendly drivers, clean buses, well behaved passengers. Well done.

Hey @covid19nz the traveller pass process works ok but just pointing out that the terminology around vaccine type is very confusing and misaligned with the test and vaccine certificates. Suggest you take a customer view rather than a medical view to improve this.

Three inventions frustrated blokes desperately need: traffic lights that don’t stay red when there’s not another car in sight, shirts that don’t get stained by olive oil and a device to stop you curbing the rims on your car.

I wonder if I will live long enough to ever hear the PPTA say “that’s a good idea”.

@AklTransport it’s not on fining a car parked on the short stretch of Clearway on Bassett Rd this morning when we’re in Lockdown and there’s not a moving car in sight. (No conflict of interest as it wasn’t my car, just feel that is the wrong thing to do ethically)

The Govt has lost the audience in the Covid strategy. No point imposing more stringent lockdowns as even ordinary law abiding people are not going to comply from here on. It’s vaccines or nothing.

@NZComCom it is time you took the scammers behind these advertisements on. It’s been running for months making completely ridiculous claims about reducing power consumption. Lots of people will be getting ripped off.

This Advert appearing in The Herald online is a complete pile of bullshit. I hope the Commerce Commission is onto whoever is behind it. It’s a complete scam but unfortunately a lot of consumers will likely be taken in by it.

Andrew Barnes: What we should take from Jake Millar's failure nzherald.co.nz/business/news/… Outstanding opinion piece from Andrew Barnes. Cultures that ‘get’ entrepreneurial endeavour expect, respect and learn from failure. Those that don’t ridicule it. Sadly NZers struggle

Proud of my son Chris who has his first single on Spotify today. Have a listen - search his band Cafe Fistfight. Song is “Service with a smile” (about a friend of his battling depression). Chris is the singer and songwriter.

Despite all the political posturing over cancelation of Auckland light rail, it’s absolutely the right call given the extreme post-Covid financial pressure on tax payers in years to come.

Great to see Designer Wardrobe, a brilliant NZ start up success story, be bold during Covid lockdown and prepare to launch in Australia- which they did today. Inspiring to be involved as Chair and investor with this terrific team of entrepreneurs.

With the virus clearly defeated in NZ, the marginal health risks avoided by remaining in Lvl 2 must be a thousand times less than the marginal benefit to the economy of moving to Lvl 1 immediately.

A complete rort Auck Transport. You’ve created a roadblock and now you’re fining everyone for going round it. Do the right thing and cut it out : Auckland Transport bus lane trial nets $4.6m in fines on Newmarket street in three months nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/articl…

NZ Media and NZ Radio Awards should win the award for the most OTT award events - 116 different award catalogues between them. Surely enough awards for everyone in the industry to get one.

The Last Post on a Tuba played by my son Ben on our street amidst our neighbours at 6 this morning. Quite a special ANZAC commemoration.

@FranOSullivan Media can access same support as any other business Fran. Many businesses’ revenue have gone to zero but they are not demanding special treatment.

@simonmoutter @simonmoutter you can be more constructive. Advertising has halved. If you'd reached similar inflexion point in prior roles you might also look for temp support. Question is where to move from this. Noting media will not be only industry to get Govt help as we comer thru this.

The demands from journos that the taxpayer should save them because their advert funded business model is unsustainable grates with me. Rather, if they’re really that valuable, they should charge for the news and let customers decide their fate - just like any other business.
