@niels_corfield @howemill @simonprescott3 I'd go with this - sheep don't usually touch hair grass if they have a choice (and cattle aren't that much more likely to graze it). Horrible stuff when it dominates - wraps round your legs, pokes you in the ear, makes electric fencing difficult...

@howemill @simonprescott3 @Rosewood_Farm Delay spring grazing in these passages when grazing through these particular pastures make sure utilisation rates are low and selectivity is also low Do not allow stock to eat out the good grasses around these Competition is your friend

@simonprescott3 Sounds like a good rest period, but maybe try reducing the time they are in the field - maybe @niels_corfield or @Rosewood_Farm can advise? We have lots of it but I see it as a good thing - deep rooting, helps soil health, wildlife habitat, native breeds eat it...1/2

@howemill When growth finally starts sheep are on shift pattern only few days in each field so we aren't over grazing and giving the grass and soil a chance. We outdoor lambing at the moment and this is why this field Is bare at present but will be rested after. Thanks for advice

Well that's my own grass knocked over the night. Let's hope the rain will stay away for a few days. Propbly the cleanest grass I have cut yet on my own ground. #silage19 #Sheep365
