Namjoon about Normal
🐨: Normal is a very sad song. I wrote the lyrics in Korean and then changed it to English for radio and stuff, but yeah, there is a Korean version of Normal. The guys have even recorded the Korean version. Idk if it will ever be out tho. Anyways, kerosene is oil that lights the bulbs. One day you love me, one day you say you hate me fine make me bulletproof, so that I won't die even if you shoot me. There was this keyword of Normal. But what is normal for us? As we live as BTS what is the normal for me? Someday ppl tell me that they love me and the other day they tell me to get lost just like a very toxic couple. Ppl put us high 1000 times and pull down 1000 times too.
"Two sides of a coin and they both ain't true"
Both sides aren't true. Why? Coz both sides are true and both sides are fake at the same time. There's no one who can explain this team called BTS.
"Wish I had a min just to turn me off"
Fine this is the life that I've chosen and all mistakes are mine but I can think about having a min of shutting off from the ppl. This doesn't mean that I wanna give up on my life but I can hope for ppl to forget me for a moment. I think that's the feeling behind writing this lyrics. Now that I see this song is really sad too.
"Fantasy and fame yeah the things we choose"
We're accepting that we've chosen this fame. When we sing this song on stage we sing it as a happy song coz we're singing it together, coz this is the other side of the coin.

Namjoon said that Jungkook cried the most while all the hyungs were crying too 😭💔
🐨: At that time, Jungkook was also going through a really difficult period. Honestly, all of us were struggling since we were still active-duty soldiers. Jungkook was crying his eyes out, saying that as the older brother, I needed to work harder to hold the team together. We talked about things like that, and we had a lot of deep conversations among ourselves.🥺

Namjoon shared that all the members cried on the day Jin was discharged at Jimin’s house, as they comforted each other through the difficult times 😭💜
🐨When Jin-hyung was discharged and I played the saxophone, we were all going through a really difficult time. We gathered at Jimin’s place, and since we were still serving in the military, everyone was struggling. We all cried, and they told me to do my best to lead and hold the team together 🥺

Hobi saying "It's so tight" makes so much sense now

🐨 Body to Body was originally, Body on Body, and was a very sexual song. Why can't we do a sexual song? We are in our 30s, But we felt like doing a sexual song suddenly for no reason wasn't something for us to do now, so we took inspiration from 'Hand in hand' from 1988 Olympics

🐨: 2026 the love of the american music awards goes tooooo ARMY!!!
🐥: congratulations!
🐨: Guys it's a beautiful night and we are making history together. felt like I don't know like kind of very strange feelings because it reminds me of 2017. 9 years ago when we first attended the AMAs. We had... we literally had no room so, we had to, like, fix our make up in the hallway. So when the stars maybe just passed by we were like"oh, hey I am sorry"/"we are sorry", but last night we used the biggest room. And everyone - every legend, every staff they were so nice and kind to us. And we know it's because of you guys. And yeah, it was really strange to experience it last night... I just wanna say this - you know, it's all thanks to you and we'll never forget the night we had at the AMAs. I love you.

Namjoon said that in 2017 at the AMAs, #BTS didn’t even have a room of their own to do their makeup and now in 2026, the AMAs gave them the biggest room just for them 😭💜
“Last night, I really felt like a strange feeling cause it reminds me of like 2017, 9 years ago when we first attended the AMAs, we had no green room and we literally had to fix our makeup in the hallway.. But last night we used the biggest room”

🐨: The song 'Body to Body' was originally supposed to be titled 'Body on Body.' If I remember correctly, it was a song with a very sexual nuance, like 'I need somebody on body.' You get the general vibe…bodies overlapping and all that. So it was a pretty sensual song.
🐨: Of course, it's not like we can't do sexual songs anymore; after all, we are in our 30s now. However, I just felt that putting out a highly sexual song right now without a clear reason wasn't the right direction for us.
🐨: So, I thought about 'Hand in Hand'—the theme song for the 1988 Seoul Olympics by Koreana…and shifted the concept to 'Body to Body,' playing on the idea of holding onto each other's bodies instead of just hands. I really wanted it to become an anthem.
🐨: There was a lot of debate in the documentary about whether or not we should include 'Arirang' (to sample the folk song). Since some of the context was edited out, it might look a bit sudden, but after listening to it for the third time, I finally understood the reasoning behind it.
🐨: We had been listening to the version without 'Arirang' for a long time, so when it was first added, it felt a bit unfamiliar. Some people might even look at it and think, 'Isn't this trying too hard to push forced Korean patriotism (Gukbong)?' To be fair, that's a perfectly valid perspective.
🐨: But ultimately, when you think about it in the context of live concerts, that part hits differently. Seeing so many international fans waiting for that exact moment and singing along to a traditional Korean folk song perfectly... that is not a scene you can just artificially manufacture or stage.
🐨: I actually really like the GIF of that moment. J-Hope is dancing and grooving excitedly right next to me, while I'm standing there looking deeply serious and thinking to myself, 'Oh man, this is huge. We might be in trouble.'

🐨 There's a clip that I really like. Hobi is dancing energetically and I'm like this. I was thinking this is freaking worrisome. I liked that we decided on Arirang as our album title. Arirang itself can be defined narrowly or as broadly as you'd like. But these 7 Korean youths embarking on a new beginning and the 7 of us, in the end, are nothing more than country bumpkins from Korea.
