well i was hoping to do a special givvy for one of my 30th anniversary sticker collections (and potentially whatever else i could get my hands on). i guess i will just have to think of a fun, cool way to do it 🤔 i more want this one to be for the people who need it, who have followed/supported me for a while, and all that. so i guess ill be trying to figure that out 🥲

Potentailly unpopular opinion? Giveaways are spam and its good X is cracking down on them. Most of the accounts that do them regularly (if the giveaway is even real) are only using them for engagement revenue. And I'd wager that they are well aware the vast majority of that engagement is from accounts who only exist to farm free stuff I've you've ever done a giveaway, you know this. You see accounts posting to enter who never do anything else on this app. Using giveaways to grow your following is not an effective strategy anyway unless you aim to be followed by mostly bots So its no wonder why legit efforts at posting real content from these accounts are met with complaints about their posts not reaching their following. They are reaching them, there's just no carrot of free stuff for them to care so they scroll past and ignore it Not that I do them often anyway, but I'll be stopping giveaways (including collabs) going forward. I'll still be following through on the World Cup one of course but its replies have already been locked despite the game being several hours away still. To me, they are simply not worth the risk to my account to continue doing. Even without monetization

So, I've delved into the rabbit hole on suspensions and from what I can tell.... 1. You need to avoid repetitive posts. So my people who make GM engagement bait, spam giveaways constantly, or do some other repetitive style engagement baiting need to stop and mix it up. 2. Giveaways aren't inherently ban worthy, but you need a few things, such as clear rules, the mention it is not sponsored by X, and most importantly.... Avoid the typical giveaway call to actions. I would reduce my CTA's to "retweet and reply with your favorite __________". I 100% would avoid asking for follows and the "tag _ friends" asks to avoid engagement bait flags. 3. I personally believe Daily and Peak were flagged for engagement bait. I'm not here to argue in their defense if you believe they were, but I will say there are much worse offenders on this app who deserved the ban before them: - Walrus_Moonboy: A constant posting of old stolen content to farm engagement. - PokeTCGiveaways: Another constant posting of stolen content to farm engagement as well as using giveaways to farm engagement. My long time members of the hobby also know his following was built off extremely large giveaways where winners were never announced. - FlipFlip: Another goober who steals content for engagement bait and also makes up lies as well. Also does constant giveaways where no winner is announced. - GlitchedDrops: An account I have attempted to community note over and over, because not only do they steal content, they steal the captions to that content as well. These 4 accounts have violated X's monetization far beyond anything Peak or Daily has done. The AI catching accounts is not catching the people who truly are breaking the rules and abusing their monetization system.
