This team was perfect. This is not about basketball. This is about greatness. Far from perfect in practice and far from perfect in games - but this team was perfect in all the ways that actually mattered. The fact that they were pretty damn good on the court too? Awesome, but secondary. Yes, in their minds too. This core group spent almost three of their four years with what many would consider a burden, but what they considered a privilege. This group played more than basketball. They represented a people and a nation under attack. And they did that perfectly. They also set the stage for this program as it moves into the future – on and off the court. They raised our level in ways that we wish nobody ever has to do again. I always love to talk about how much I learn each year from the teams I have the privilege to coach and work with. These last few years have changed many of our lives – for sure mine. To watch the resiliency, confidence and courage these student-athletes exemplified was awe-inspiring. Different backgrounds, different observance levels, different beliefs – one brotherhood. In all my years, I don’t know that I have had a group of guys this invested in each other and their people. The shift of our focus as a program from sport to humanity somehow made us better at basketball too. These guys defined playing for a purpose. The difference is the purpose was bigger than just the sport itself. You want to win? Everyone does. You work hard? Everyone works hard. What separates you on and off the court is your “why”. We found our program “why” thanks to this special group, and we will never forget it. Thanks @maxzakheim, Zevi, Roy, Dothan, Hillel, Tom, @arishklyar12, Or - for teaching me how to lead with confidence and perspective. Our future success will be yours as well.

It’s great to have Yeshiva in the Sweet 16 for 3 reasons: 1) Always happy for @elliotsteinmetz and what he accomplishes at YU. 2) I have many YU fan friends who’ve been extremely good to me. 3) More days of crazy #d3hottakes from the uniformed/pure homer side of YU nation. @simplezach @FFTMAG @rboerger @BQuillmanQcast Schools can sell from their allotment, as well. Often they buy them for player families and VIPs and return the rest, but they could sell the extra until noon tomorrow.

@rboerger @simplezach @BQuillmanQcast @FFTMAG And technically, all tickets are assigned to one of the four schools until Wednesday at noon, when they have to return any they haven't bought or sold. Earlier online sales are always coming from the host school's alloment.

I have always believed in scheduling up. We might lose some more games along the way; we might get questioned by our fan base; we might even have a frustrated locker room. None of those things make you weaker unless you let them. All of them make you stronger if you embrace them. There’s no better way to get better than to play those who are better. I’ll always be of the belief that our success at the end of this conference season was a direct consequence of our failures before it.
