GitHub dark high contrast theme for VS Code github.blog/changelog/2021…
English

@448jp Thanks for the reply. 🙇 All the reasons seem reasonable to me. 😁 Ok, changed it to `Meiryo` #diff-34665bdb6ca6905a302f6c4da0ce1a94b8fc0122bfa312635fb0136565abef3dR45" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/primer/css/pul…
It may take a few days until this change makes it to github.com.
English

@simurai For these reasons, I recommend Meiryo.
Here are a few URLs that may be helpful.

@miguelsolorio_ We considered that, but then users expect it to stay maintained like the rest. There is a small FAQ with more details: #discussion-1919244" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/primer/github-…

For those that prefer the "old" dark theme, you can still install it via .vsix from the github.com/primer/github-… repo. See "Install" in the README. It should appear as "GitHub Dark Classic".

@ferdinandvogler Not really. 😄 Still at GitHub mostly working on github.com/primer/css.
But for Codespaces: github.com/features/codes… we thought it would be great to have an own “GitHub theme”.

@simurai Started following you in the Atom theming days (I made Native UI). You now moved on to VS Code since Microsoft acquired Github? 🙂
English

Semantic highlighting is coming to the @github theme for @code very soon, thanks to @simurai and @maeschli 😍
Get the theme here: marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName…
(left is @typescript code without semantic highlighting, right is with semantic highlighting)

@simurai @_adonisk @code I made marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName… a few years back after being inspired by @simurai 's beautiful themes. I even made a preview tool to test out configurations (polychrome-vscode-preview.netlify.app)

@raphaelschaad There will only be one One theme. 😉 The GitHub theme is a bit different and is meant to mimic the syntax highlighting of github.com and also uses GitHub’s color scheme: primer.style/css/support/co…

There is a neat “Auto Detect Color Scheme” setting that automatically switches between the preferred dark and light theme. This is especially handy when using macOS’s “Auto Appearance” that changes every morning and evening. ✨ twitter.com/simurai/status…

@raphaelschaad No, I think the “Auto Detect Color Scheme” is a “out of the box” setting. So you can use it with any theme.
English

@simurai Love it. I currently "hack" that behavior with a VSC extension. Should I switch to the GitHub Theme? What's the advantage?
English

@_adonisk @code There is this port marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName… that is pretty good. Although it needs some tweaking of the “workspace” colors.
