Im open to others interpretation but imo they just fucked up his name but design wise he’s more desi than arab No hate to op they really did a good job researching i just think having a wide inconsistent inspiration spread out in MENA and SWANA isn’t focusing on one culture

@sincerelyviso I'm genuinely not h8ting bcoz this is genuinely such a gorgeous conceptualization (and i'm so grateful the OC has a beautiful dusky skintone given that we tend to whitewash our own gods💀)but it still kinda gives kpop. Which is not a bad thing, its just what it is ig.

@sousuper___ I should add that these blouses are widely worn through out India and even Bangladesh and Pakistan not just Tamil Nadu, problem isn’t the crop top but how the British still bastardized the Saree and used their survival against them, ancient india was MUCH more revealing

@sousuper___ I see people say that it’s orientalist and I understand where they’re coming from and it does look like a reference to jasmine’s croptop but I also see it as a Ravikkai a cropped blouse that was worn in the colonial era of India, it was done out of survival and to look modest

@Ankha_777 Honestly its your hc no one has control over it, orientalism becomes orientalism when its an unclear Inspiration and romanticizes and sexualizes said culture objectifying the subject in the media (dw i dont think ya did any of that its good you made it clear on what u put up)
