Dweeb had his 2 week post-op recheck at UC Davis today! 🧡
His jaw is healing well! Still a little inflamed so continuing pain meds for a while. It does seem like those right canines will need to go, they're impeding his ability to fully close his mouth

there is no such thing as ethical breeding and there is no excuse to support cat breeding. You cannot say you are an advocate for cat welfare or rescue if you support breeding. Just want to make that clear 🫶🏼

Went back in to the V. E. T. just to make sure everything is ok re: the frequent litter box trips. Got another pain med and a test for a UTI. Hopefully it's just irritation from having a catheter, but if it's a UTI we'll get antibiotics. Crazy couple of days around here.

@TriCopper I’m glad he is doing ok! My orange boy has had that twice. He only eats the special food now, and it hasn’t happened in a few years, but I still get paranoid about it happening again.

Guy who is nonchalantly costing mom $4,000 😭 (he's ok right now, on pain meds). They'll remove the urinary blockage overnight and monitor him for the rest of the day tomorrow.

Since I became ARMY in 2020 I quit a substance addiction (4 years clean), got tenure at my university, grew apart from a relationship, found a new love, moved to the country, got married, and found a vibrant new irl community.
It's been a beautiful journey with BTS 💜

@michael_hoerger I’ve been posting this article since it came out in November 2022. At most, 100 people will see it. That’s it. I’ve tried links & no links. I’ve tried words. No dice. From where I sit, this app (& our societies!) have actively blocked reinfections discussions for 4 years.

I cannot reiterate enough with the frequency and gravity it deserves that every reinfection increases the cumulative risk of Long COVlD.
Our PMC survey data (n>2,000) suggest it is rare to avoid LC after 5+ known infections. I'll talk more about that again Sunday night.

@sindee_ne @nazzobetweeting It was "Come Close" - it's detective fiction, main character is in the FBI, set in Lincoln NE. Plot was fine if maybe not highly believable, I was just expecting to enjoy the local color but was perplexed by the subways! Not badly written but missing some detail and texture.

i was reading a book by a british author that takes place in NYC and the author wrote “the flight from London landed at LaGuardia Airport” like no. no, it didn’t. no it did not do that.

one of the funniest things to me is when a person writes specific details about boston in a fic and they definitely aren’t from boston cause they’ll be like ilya crashed his car into a tree speeding on newbury street and I’m like no he didn’t

We had to say goodbye to Soot Sprite. Thank you for rooting him on, but it became clear he was only getting worse and we made the decision to let him go peacefully, surrounded by love.

it makes me very sad that we still have 8 perfect, healthy big kittens growing up mostly in an enclosure here at the rescue. They should be cuddling on someone's lap, zooming around, being happy babies. Soon they'll be a year old and still sitting here, waiting 💔
