Check three things: 1. The redirect_uri in your OAuth request has to EXACTLY match what’s registered in your GitHub OAuth app settings, including http vs https, trailing slashes, and port numbers. localhost:3000/callback is different from localhost:3000/callback/. 2. If you’re on Render, your app URL is https but your GitHub app might still have http://localhost registered. Update it to your Render URL. 3. Check if you’re encoding the redirect_uri in your auth URL, sometimes double-encoding breaks it. If you’re still facing the same issue, DM me a screenshot of your GitHub OAuth app settings and I can help you further.

Started wiring the frontend to the backend for Shipyard. GitHub OAuth flow working end to end — click sign in, redirect to GitHub, authorize, callback hits my server, server exchanges the code for a token, creates the user, and redirects back to the dashboard with the session. Then connected project fetching,and project updates. Using React Query for server state and Zustand for client state — same combo I used on NexusChat but the patterns feel sharper this time. Axios interceptors inject the JWT on every request automatically. The part that keeps catching me: building the API in isolation vs building it for a real frontend are two different things. Half the decisions I made on the backend only made sense once I saw how the frontend actually consumes the data. Builds need to come back in descending order.
