@suresh2555 @Polymarket So then maybe I’m asking where, specifically, it is because I live in Washington, D.C.

Apple has FINALLY fixed the iPhone keyboard bug! The release notes for iOS 26.4 say: “improved keyboard accuracy when typing quickly.”

@singletary @Arap_Turitik Can be reduced a lot by running Ethernet to the TV and using Wi-Fi 6E/7 on the router and client. Miracast finally makes sense but the stigma lingers.

@scottastevenson “You’re not just right about this — you’re spot on. If you want, I can also tell you a little trick for improving the tone in ChatGPT.” 🤣

The default writing style of ChatGPT makes me nauseous. I’m sick of seeing it in X comments, blog posts, emails, memos and ChatGPT itself. It’s out of fashion, the flavor has grown stale. I use Claude just to escape it. Very simple fix for OpenAI: change the secret system prompt to abolish this tiresome tone. Or create a more automatic way for people to give it their own tone. This feels like an instance where a 10 minute change could make a product 2x better

@nikitabier @flyosity Apple should prioritize update approvals by # of downloads... larger apps get boosted to the front of the line versus the guy who's app has 10 downloads.

iOS developers: How long is App Review taking for everyone these days? It is now taking longer to get our app approved than it is to build the actual features.

I’m getting less sleep since I started using @claudeai. Reminds me of when I first started using ChatGPT a few years ago, but the tech is obviously way better than it was then. I’m having fun. Redoing my website, learning about the universe, and working through Jamf configurations. Claude is just so nice to talk to. Not quite as good at getting realtime data as ChatGPT, but it explains complex topics in a much more natural way. Using Gemini at work and, unfortunately, it’s nowhere near as good as Claude. But hey, I can use it with work data and Gemini can draft/outline Google Docs and Slides for me. It’s decent with Sheets, too.

Tried @claudeai for the first time today. Absolutely incredible. It’s the most human-like AI I’ve used, by far. It’s a little weird about some things, though. I asked it for help in navigating back to a specific location in Pokemon LeafGreen given where I’m at in the game and it contradicted itself numerous times, but realized this and corrected itself in a surprisingly human way. At one point it said “Actually, that’s a very long way around. The more direct option:” after providing a route that didn’t make sense, but I didn’t have to tell it that, it realized that and corrected itself in the same reply. Talked quite a lot about the nature of the universe and it was quite good at that. I wanted to learn more about the quantum measurement theory and wave function collapse. Claude was very helpful in working through some of my thought experiments with that, primarily around hidden variables and retrocausality. I’m impressed. Did this all on the free plan (I guess there’s expanded usage available late at night, like night and weekend minutes on old cell plans) so hopefully I don’t need to pay for yet another AI subscription.

This is so sad. I’d never rent my house out because the city makes it impossible to ever legally make someone leave once they’re inside your home. The second the squatter leaves I’d just take all of their shit and throw it as far away from my house as I could haul it, then I’d change the locks again and not let the person back in.

Veronica Hegens thought she’d made a sound financial decision in September 2023 by renting out her row house in Southwest D.C. Now the retired Army major is in danger of losing the property to foreclosure because of a tenant who hasn’t paid rent since October and who also has no immediate plans to leave. bit.ly/4bfbEC6

I’m not saying that Tim Cook is retiring this year for sure, but this interview doesn’t convince me that he’s not. He said “I can’t imagine life without Apple” which is far from saying he’s not retiring soon. He brought up the rumors about an imminent retirement and didn’t dispel them. Could’ve easily said “no plans to retire soon.” That would have directly addressed the rumors and leaves wiggle room for a quick departure that “wasn’t in the plan.” Cook will likely become an executive of the Apple board when he retires as CEO, which would still let him enjoy his life with Apple. He had the chance to kill the retirement rumors but chose not to.
