Not trying to justify it, but I feel like we're forgetting that Azi says things he doesn't really mean when he's scared, and Crowley knows this "Friends? We're not friends, I don't even like you!" and Crowley IMMEDIATELY knew it's a lie, so I don't think it's that big of a deal

The problem is exactly as Nina and Maggie said: they aren’t saying what they really mean. Crowley wants to run somewhere so Heaven can’t get their hands on Aziraphale. Aziraphale wants to take Crowley back to Heaven so he can openly protect him.

It’s important to remember that while Aziraphale did reject Crowley’s idea of the future (running off together and leaving humanity to fend for themselves) he did NOT reject Crowley himself, nor did he reject Crowley’s love.
