@thugaliers @LiberalDsa Pretty much what my genuine take of this whole ordeal is. There’s this notion of black and white in this particular conflict that simply is not true, I fucking hate Hamas and I don’t trust them at all but I also don’t like innocent Palestinians suffering for no reason.

@LiberalDsa his take is getting clearer: he believes israel has legitimate claim over fighting hamas but believe they have executed it poorly and violently

@verredelimonade That is a good point, to be fair. However, I doubt you could submit even a majority of those areas. After all, this is just theorizing on what would happen. I’ve realized that rebellion, serious political shifts and stuff like that are MUCH harder to pull off than people think

@verredelimonade ESPECIALLY in a country like America, where there’s so many different states with so many different cultures and ideologies that it would be next to impossible to, say, take over California and forcefully make it red. It’d be almost impossible

@verredelimonade While I still stand on the idea of a few men being needed to shift a country, they’d still need a lot of resources and “grunts” who would be loyal enough to enforce the necessary measures

@verredelimonade I’m not *against* the idea. We’re at a point in time where politics has been so polarized where the other side genuinely hates us and wants us impoverished or dead, so we shouldn’t have to “play fair”. On the other hand, it’s not as easy to forcefully take power-

@verredelimonade A political movement can only replicate a march on Rome so many times before it stops working. As much as I hate the left and a lot of ideas it stands for, I have to be realistic in my wishes. Besides, my specific context is wildly different from an American perspective

@verredelimonade Either that, or the designated group would have to find a way to be elected into power and find a way to work within the confines of the current system while still operating to a successful degree and getting stuff done. The latter is the much more plausible scenario

@verredelimonade History has taught us that it doesn’t actually take many men to shift the political climate or direction of a nation, it usually takes a few principled ones who are willing to do what they think is right and necessary regardless of what a bunch of morons in suits tell you

@verredelimonade More so than being cringey, you’d want that group to ACTUALLY have power, influence and resources. Chanting and owning the libs may be a tiny bit satisfactory, but it’s nowhere near enough to actually move a country.

@verredelimonade @revenant_MMXX The other “problem” I could think of is the international backlash and criticisms from people whose opinion shouldn’t actually matter. But, as we’ve seen with the Israeli conflict, it’s possible to have a bunch of idiots worldwide protesting while you keep doing your thing

@verredelimonade @revenant_MMXX I don’t think it’d be a bad idea at all, and it could very well be implemented in multiple western countries facing an immigration problem. The more nationalistic a country’s heritage is, the easier it would be to get recruits. Still, it’s one of those “sounds too god to be true”
