It's not apples-to-apples, but the difference between how Americans reacted to losing the World Baseball Classic and how Canadians reacted to losing the Gold Medal hockey game is striking. Little to no whining. No claiming to be the better team. Just congratulating Venezuelans.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but if the Olympic baseball tournament is going to be 6 teams - and not the best 6 - I’d rather MLB players not even participate. Especially if that prevents a WBC in 2029.

I do think this is a very fair point, there are cultural differences In the world cup obviously african european and asian teams dont all play and act the same. Having this for baseball is good. The tweeting from americans about how their own nation deserves to lose is disgusting
