Comics need more words for many reasons.
One being that they are more expensive now but tell stories slower... And then those stories don't get to finish well because they get cancelled because they were expensive and didn't sell enough.
(For example, DOFP is two issues long.)

2014-2018 was horrible as an X-Men fan but was the most I enjoyed titles outside that sphere
I really loved those legacy characters created/spotlighted AND their predecessors in that era (plus it had what are now definitive takes on Bruce Banner, Squirrel Girl, and Loki)

I’d even go as far as saying that legacy characters serve as the modern reimaginations of classic characters and a bit of proof that perhaps the classics would have potentially came different if they were created in a different era and climate.

Krakoa give us so many great moments with underutilized characters!! I mourn Krakoa like a mother of 12 with a husband lost at sea.

To varying degrees of course, but surprised none of these characters got significant play post-Krakoa They really got teed up and said, "nahhhhhhhh" I'd love to see Marvel back at least one of these characters (Monet) like they did Laura, Illyana, Emma, Deadpool, Cable, etc.
