Jamaica will celebrate National School Moves Day on Friday, April 24, under the theme "Every School Moving: Move Your Way, Every Day".
Led by the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth, and Information in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Wellness, this observance aims to renew the national focus on increasing physical activity among students and foster healthier school environments.
This observance supports the Jamaica Moves in Schools Programme and will feature visits to selected schools, a national planning guide, and school-led physical activities suited to each institution, among other plans.
Olympic 100-metres champion Julien Alfred and British record holder Dina Asher-Smith are set to feature in the sprint programme at this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
