When Helldivers 2 first came out, ppl accepted it was a stupid game. Shit's inconvenient, it'd blow you up, it was unfair, you'd die a lot, it was silly and dumb and just a goofy power fantasy.
Unfortunately we all know what happens when Gamers touch literally fucking anything.

Love the new "realism" change in Helldivers 2 where the directional shield blocks my own lasers. Makes total sense a sci-fi shield can’t tell friend from enemy, really immersive when I’m my own biggest counter. Thank you Arrowhead.

the original had a medic-gun that doubles as a repair tool and now they're saying they won't add it because "Space magic"?

arrowhead view helldivers 2 as a slapstick comedy where a bunch of incompetent buffoons die every 2 seconds from random acts of carelessness from cheap, ineffective, mass produced equipment, and are constantly up against the wall against far more powerful enemies they had no chance of ever defeating if you dont play the game this way, you're doing it "wrong" and they will go out of their way to make sure you're having the "correct" experience by making your turrets deliberately shoot you, giving eruptor shrapnel player magnetism, making DSS eagle strikes target you, nerfing all the gear they see as "too effective", and deliberately sabotaging major orders so that they dont accidentally portray super earth as even slightly competent to me the game is at its best when youre with a group of friends who all know what they're doing, all pick a role they're good at, and are communicating and coordinating, and we get through a really difficult mission with little to no casualties because each and every one of us has been through the zero to hero arc and know that we could fuck it up at any time by being careless myself and many others are frustrated because this game is so close to being a 10/10, but their incessant need for us to play the game "their way" and refusal to fix very easily fixable problems holds them back and it just feels like its being done out of spite at this point

@SPADtm Really not a balance issue but spraying down waves of terminids with MMG and the maxigun was really fun and now it don't hit the same with hive guards getting in the way, i mean its still a hive guard lol, slowest terminid in the game.

even if you're unlucky you'll just end up "Behind" on sig weapons but rarely miss one since it takes 3 banners for them to rotate out, unless you're really hoarding rolls or something lol.

@Krekkov there's a phenomena in co-op games where once you've gotten the hang of the game the max difficulty just kind of becomes the "Standard", the "real" game. And even 1 diff below that is a snorefest.

@binahlover To be fair, it’s not that specific on what Fixers do exactly behind ‘fixing problems they’re paid to fix’ so I can maybe understand if someone (SOMEHOW) assumes plumbers could count as Fixers too.
