@BavarianFBWorks@ESPNFC Rudiger and tah absolutely hopeless.. torrid in 1v1 defending and slower that a geriatric in a wheelchair. Spain would score 10
@BavarianFBWorks So poor last night, where is the leroy that ised to attack defenders? Now ots either a back pass of looking for a 1-2 . So one dimensional and predictable
@Cnyari Im not quite sure what the next gen looks like barring those that are already established. It will be hard to replace players and characters like kroos and co.
@skade10 Yea definitely deserves the benefit of the doubt after this tournament. I do think there’s only so much a coach can do. It’s also up to the players and the individual quality.
My take, penalty call aside, is that Nagelsmann got it wrong in the 1st half with the lineup & timid play. After that they did well and should have won the game. Biggest challenge will be to keep and build on the momentum from this year, without a big stabilizing force like Kroos
@Cnyari Historically low. I do however think that it has been raised somewhat. I reckon nagelsmann is on the right track in terms of merit selection, however, he needs to put a spine together now. Build a dynasty
@skade10 If confidence really is that big of an impediment there are some pretty big concerns that even tactics can’t solve. The jury is still out IMO. The bar was very very low before this tournament. As a fan, I’m not throwing a party after this tournament.
@Cnyari That being said, some hard conversations will need to happen, and the hope of players like havertz and sane becoming world beaters needs to be put to rest. They just arent
@Cnyari Based on who was on the field, germany should have wiped the floor with spain in extra time, instead we chose to play in our half rather than theirs. Old germany takes their game to the opponent. Lets hope that killer instinct returns.
@Cnyari Yep, first half was where this was lost. Its sad to see kroos neuer and muller go, but i do hope this is the end of the gundogan experiment aswell, just nowhere near the level required. The same could be said about havertz.
Well, wow. Guess who pops up to score the equaliser? A proper fucking striker. Great situational awareness to avoid being flagged. A calm, high-quality header.
This is where Nagelsmann needs to put more on the table to buy my faith. His tactics have been exposed by the Swiss here, as has his persistence with Havertz up top.
@RaeComm Hard to say who it will be tbh, pavlovic? Such a quality player to leave out.. undav is probably the odd one out in my opinion, but the coach seems to like him based on the minutes he’s received
Maximilian Beier is a big theme in German media today after an impressive debut as a sub vs. Ukraine. Whereas Beier previously looked likely to be the 1 player cut from the Euros squad, that may no longer be the case. #DFBTeam
@JonBloggs66 Just a different breed. Hard to think of any person, even in different sports who managed such a successful career whilst seeming so human at the same time. One is convinced that football has never been the most important thing in his life
@Cnyari Absolutely, him and kroos could be an absolute revelation together, precision passing combined with great finishing, not to mention wirtz musiala and sane tearing it up around him
