This nice dandelion in WebXR has been fully coded using a local LLM. In today's post, I examine the Agentic AI workflow of the Meta Immersive WebSDK, which is made to automatically create WebXR experiences by writing prompts in natural language. The cool thing of this solution is that thanks to dedicated MCP tools, the AI agents not only can develop the experiences, but they can also fully test them in the browser to see if they are working, and take action if there are issueS! I made various tests with it, and verified that it is a promising solution, but it is still actually in the early stages. Let's say the system kinda works, but it's slower and less precise than what I hoped for. Since I have a powerful DELL PC with an NVIDIA RTX 6000, I also tried a fully local development using Qwen3 or the new Gemma4 model. The performances were definitely worse, but still, I managed in the end with a lot of perseverance to obtain what I wanted, as you can see from the short video. It's definitely a technology to keep an eye on. If you want the full details of my hands-on with the AI flow of Immersive Web SDK, you can find them in my post: skarredghost.com/2026/04/23/met… #VirtualReality #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #Meta [Disclaimer: I mentioned the DELL PC because I'm a DELL Pro Precision Ambassador, and I have been given a PC to make cool tests with it and share my results online. @SmallBaguette Exactly, the second part is the key. If the user can activate that mode, I'm fine with it. If it is like the default mode, not much

@SkarredGhost I don't see why people are suddenly so keen on preserving the artist's vision when visual mods have existed for decades and are widely celebrated. As long as it's an option then let the end user decide how they want to enjoy the game they are playing.

Roblox announced its experimentation with "Roblox Hybrid Architecture", which is basically NVIDIA's DLSS5: a way to enhance the current view of the game using a world model to add more details. The results of this technology are impressive, but we can read in the comments from the community the same considerations that happened when NVIDIA demoed its model: the graphical result is surely stunning, but it is not deterministic and goes to change the artistic direction of those who created the game. In the video below, you can see it in action: - Top Left: original game - Top Right: 3D data of the view - Bottom Left: current lab results applying AI upscaling - Bottom Right: theoretical results when the model is released You can read more details here: about.roblox.com/newsroom/2026/… What do you think about it? #gaming #roblox #technology

@CodeByNZ It seems a bait story to me. The part about McDonald's is very suspicious, considering that it is the joke we all make about our plan B if we fail as developers, but we rarely actually do that

This guy is a software engineer with 18 years of experience. Now, working at McDonald's. One day, his company decided 2 AI guys could do what his team of 12 used to do. As a result, got laid off. He sent 100+ applications, but didn't get any jobs. One HR rep literally told him, "CS degree is useless now". Now he's flipping burgers while grinding through rejections. He knows 200 developers in the same boat. And the executives who made this call? They are fine, they always are...

"However, Pixi [#AR app] is incorporating some interesting interactive elements: The cat comedian, for instance, delivers one dad joke after another until the app detects the viewer cracking a smile via the phone’s front-facing camera. After that, the character thanks the viewer for their attention like a comedian ending their show and delivers a personalized greeting message." This is pretty interesting: an AR app on the phone that does not only place objects in the space, but also reacts to the user and environment lowpass.cc/p/visio-pro-ph… via @jank0

Hello everyone!👋😎 We’ve officially been a company for two months now, and we’ve already been working hard, taking part since a month in our first hackathon! A big thank you to the immersive insiders (organizing XRCC) team, for organizing XRCC, we really appreciate the effort that went into it! After exploring the hackathon and its tracks, we decided to push forward, start development of our newest product/service: a hand and location based Augmented Reality Park 🎢 During the hackathon, we achieved some exciting breakthroughs, especially in democratizing 👨‍👨‍👦‍👦, improving accuracy 💫, and possibilities of location tracking for AR glasses 😎🍄 youtube.com/watch?v=KGLg-j… XR Creator Con April 9-30, 2026 xrcc.events/xrcc-2026 #AR #XR #ExtendedReality #3DDevelopment #ImmersiveTech #ARGlasses #Hackathon #TechInnovation #SpatialComputing $ddd $ssys $nndm $meta $appl $NDAQ $QQQ

People understand that LLMs aren't actually "thinking," right?

Well, as a developer, I can say AI makes me faster. Not 10x like some gurus say, but like 1.3-1.5x. Once the architecture is set (I still do that manually), writing code just becomes a rather obvious tasks for many things and so can be delegated to AI. Of course an appropriate review then is needed to guarantee the code is as expected, but latest frontier models write pretty decent code once they know what they should do.

Why is the AI backlash growing? Outside of coding (where there is clear value), and a handful of other domains (e.g. brainstorming), Generative AI has been a net negative for society. GenAI has been undermining secondary and college education, opening up mass surveillance, increasing disinformation, delusions, impersonation, phishing, and other forms of cybercrime, nonconsensual deep fake porn, bias in employment and other domains, and economic disparity, drowning the world in slop and unwanted, over-leveraged environment-damaging data centers that risk causing a recession. Simultaneously it has empowered a bunch of people who want to privatize almost all the gains while leave all the downsides to society, taking almost zero responsibility. I don’t think we are better off than we were four years ago. Some of this is technical (LLMs aren’t reliable), some of it is political/economic (such as the utter lack of responsible regulation). Most of this was predictable. Almost none of it is good. All that said, I honestly believes some future form of AI might be great. But Generative AI has hurt more than it has helped, and been managed irresponsibly. It’s no wonder many people have had enough.
