@LambdaGen I should state, it isn't just PUNT that ended up in this situation. I'm aware of at least 4 others, one of which was covered by Kotaku back in May. kotaku.com/indie-horror-g…

An ex-project lead of PUNT, a Portal inspired-game, has shared a statement regarding the status of the game and anyone involved. "Valve killed Punt in 2023. Missed our agreed release window and then demanded more money. Ghosted when we tried to negotiate."

@TheGraySeed And CS Legacy too which is a shame. Both CS projects were cool.

@LambdaGen The dev better Google docky this. Gotta see what's truly going on, especially since what happened to CSCO.

@datnofact Perhaps they tried to ask why and how they could solve this problem, but didn't hear back since. Valve communication lacking as usual or something more to the history like you said.

@LambdaGen Pretty shitty if true and assuming there's no more to this than is being told here. A bit confused as to why Valve would be demanding more money though. Wouldn't they have gotten into some kind of formal licencing agreement? Were there not any laid-out terms for the licencing?

@evileboxyboo At least we've the Unity port going on behind the scenes in case nothing changes.

@LambdaGen Gonna assume this is similar to when they "shut down" tf2c and open fortress, because they used illegally leaked code, so they released the tf2 sdk so the devs can use the official and legal version of that code, except the devs here did something much worse that they leave out
