Lagos Rent Displacement Theory. This is what a friend told me about the theory of ongoing displacement in Lagos due to crazy rent prices. Those in Island paying 12-15million to rent a 3-bedroom and unable to afford it any longer take the option of relocating to Mainland. They then decide to invade Gbagada, and pronto. 5million naira rent gets jacked up to 7.5million. They have outmuscled the hitherto Gbagada tenants. Those ones either match them or move to Shomolu jejely. The ones in Magodo cannot afford the 10m rent again, and are ready to pay 5m for house in Ketu. The displaced people from Ketu, then move to Berger to displace the hitherto residents of there. The earlier residents of Berger nko- They are then displaced to Arepo, Mowe and co. Rent in Iyana-Ipaja for some houses is already 2 million naira. That is how unbridled capitalism makes life unattainable for millions.

Knowledge is not just a burden, but a lonely place. The ability to clearly see things that others cannot see if their lives depnded on it is not a gift. It's a social impediment. If I say that there is a direct and obvious link stringing together the "Christian Genocide" fairytale with the Dangote Refinery, the Benue Trough, the Itakpe Hill Ridge, the Bama Beach ridge and the wider geological belt stretching from Plateau to Yobe, 99% of my audience will respond "What are those?" And that's why we lose. How can they possibly fight and win a war when they don't even realise there's a war going on? Just one lonely guy speaking turenchi to himself on Twitter. People that drank FFMP instead of milk as children couldn't possibly grasp this information. It's not their fault. They never had a chance.

The Islamic imam who put 1million naira to any Muslim that can behead a pastor for preaching Jesus has said: “…whoever carries out this job (of beheading the pastor), I swear to Allah I’ll give him one million naira. We have nothing to lose even if after beheading this pastor, the Arewa plunges into chaos, we have nothing to lose…” Dear @OfficialDSSNG @PoliceNG We know you will pretend not to see this. But we are bringing this to your attention again. There are Muslim clerics in northern Nigeria who are openly calling for the beheading of Christian pastors. Pls help retweet this for the world to see.

You drink milk or anything with dairy and 10 minutes later, you’re sprinting to the toilet. You eat noodles and your throat starts acting up. You’re drinking water nonstop for the next hour. You take a soft drink and it tastes overly sweet, almost chemical. You eat certain snacks and your stomach just feels off. You use some skincare products and your skin reacts instantly. But when people point out that a lot of products sold in Nigeria don’t meet the same standards as those in Europe, you get defensive, like it’s an attack on the country’s image and start defending her like Batman. It’s about acknowledging reality. Quality control, regulation, and consumer safety still have gaps and we still have to demand better from what we consume.

I used Nero to burn CDs as a kid and only later got the joke: Nero burned Rome, and "Burning ROM" is such a perfect reference.
