It was a busy day in the friendly letter department! We received our first Flat Stanley letter and one of our classmates heard back from the President after being inspired to write her own friendly letter encouraging the US Postal Service to make environmental changes! 📬
I am thankful to work in such an amazing building and district and with teachers like @skennedyclass who are thoughtful enough to take time and send a picture of my daughter! #blessed#reverepride
Thanks to the generosity of @PtaRichfield and their allocations fund, we were able to use our new digital weather station today. We also received a worm farm for our upcoming science unit on living things! Thank you!
Happy and honored to support all the children in my life, whether they are in my classroom or my own from home, at the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk this morning! 💗
Thanks to Ms. Exten’s Forensics class who helped these second grade sleuths solve the case of “Who Stole Mrs. Kennedy’s Lunch?”. Using their problem solving, mapping, and measurement skills, they were able to find the guilty suspect. P.S. Watch your lunch around Mr. Petsche!
Here we “snow” again…the tradition lives on. Twenty-one special snowmen stuffed with love found a new home today in the hearts of twenty-one special second graders. May they bring cherished memories of second grade for many years to come! Happy Holidays!
Recently, these outstanding second graders finished reading “The Midnight Ride of Flat Revere”. Of course, my favorite part is when we make our text-to-self connection to the essential question...”What makes you proud to be a Minuteman?” Revere Pride❤️🤍💙
We had a whole world of fun today on Earth Day! From checking in on our worm habitat to figuring out “Who Polluted the River?” to playing Earth-friendly math games during centers, we think every day should be Earth Day! 🌎
Thanks to the Richfield PTA and some dedicated parent volunteers, we enjoyed a visit to the Scholastic Book Fair. We also kicked off our March Madness Book Bracket with some great nonfiction pieces! Books are the best way to start the week!
Today we had a covered wagon round-up! Tomorrow morning we will pack our wagons before heading out on our virtual field trip to the Oregon Trail. We are looking forward to a “wild” time out West!
The Legend of the Bluebonnet by Tomie dePaola has sure kept us busy - using our story stones to create story maps, rounding up our covered wagons to do some writing by the campfire, and planting our very own bluebonnet seeds. Many great things are “blooming” in second grade!
Excited to spend this special day with 21 second graders on the 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century...and it happens to be my birthday (not my 21st though, if you couldn’t tell)! 🥳
Though they look a little different this year, the tradition still continues! Twenty-one special snowmen went home with twenty-one special second graders today. May they bring cherished memories of second grade for many years to come! Happy Holidays!
As we enter into this year’s Hanukkah season, we had the chance to learn about family traditions and enjoyed our classmate’s creative dreidel exSTEMsion project. Happy Hanukkah!
