@CLE_RichSports Brito should take his profession more seriously. Ditto for Valera. The analytical Guardians should take defense more seriously themselves in light of having a pretty good starting rotation. No one is good at getting four outs an inning. Not to mention the elevated pitch counts.

@CLE_RichSports It's not even the errors and errors ruled hits. Brito in the last 2 weeks has just waved at 2 balls mid-hop like he's never played infield before. That just doesn't happen with true MI's. Herb Perry, a 1B, would have his coach hit him grounders as hard as he could during pregame.

Agree with Bryan here and would note fielding percentage only reflects what a player does when they get to a ball.

@MegRemSoftball As someone who was a catcher all through high school, when you are trying to make a play in the field, the batter all but disappears. This was an accident.

There is a right way to play this game and a wrong way and this is 100% in the wrong. I don’t care that the batter moved back out of the box- you don’t intentionally step back to throw at her head, as hard as you can, from about a foot away. I don’t want to hear “you don’t know it wasn’t intentional.” Save it. The runner at 3rd is about a half step off 3rd. The way the catcher is positioned to throw, that throw is going towards the 3rd base fence. The most telling part though? No one checks on that batter and catcher gets a high five right after from her coach. The batter ended up with a concussion. This is completely unacceptable and has no place in this sport.

@shegone03 @MegRemSoftball Good Lord. That's "straight to hell" stuff for the catcher and her coaches. There wasn't even a play to be made. And the throw was headed for the stands. I'm genuinely sick watching this.

@OleTimeHardball I'm going with Strawberry. Watched him up-close during BP before a game in Cleveland. Yankee days. In his 30s. Never seen a show like that. He played 17 seasons but averaged only 93 games per season. Could have been an all-time great if not for booze & drugs from the get-go.
