I am outraged and heartbroken by today’s shooting and murder at the Islamic Center of San Diego, especially as today marks the first day of Dhul Hijjah, a sacred and holy time for Muslims. Houses of worship must be true sanctuaries where hate and violence have no place. I stand firmly with the Muslim community and condemn this horrific attack. I have spoken with Muslim community leaders in Los Angeles to offer my assistance and have directed the LAPD to deploy additional resources to protect L.A.’s mosques.

Spencer Pratt's campaign feels a lot like Rick Caruso's campaign. A rich Republican trying to cosplay as an "everyman" when really they have no desire to connect with REAL LA. How much outreach has Pratt done to Black and Brown communities??? He hasn't even visited our hoods.

A couple years ago, a homeless drug addict stabbed me in broad daylight completely unprovoked.
When it happened, I posted about my experience publicly because honestly I felt abandoned. 911 literally left me on hold, and I never felt like LA leadership cared about victims like me at all. Other assault victims also shared with me that they felt unsupported and ignored.
Spencer Pratt and his team actually reached out to hear my story, ask how they could help, and talk about what was happening in LA.
People can say whatever they want politically, but I remember who showed compassion to assault victims and who didn’t.
