Laura Kuenssberg who earns 400 grand for an hours work every Sunday morning, tells Zack Polanski a £15 minimum wage is unaffordable. #bbclauraK

@LeeHarris Notable that Trevor Phillips didn’t mention Ishmail Hussein, who was also stabbed earlier in Southwark by the same man.

Trevor Phillips just DESTROYED Zack Polanski on national TV. This is the first time I've seen an interviewer PROPERLY hold an extreme, far-left politician to account. In a normal world this would permanently end his political career. Utterly DAMNING for Polanski. 🔥

Self-confessed millionaire Peter doesn't want to pay his employees enough money to live on. He'd rather pay them poverty wages so they have to rely on in-work benefits funded by the taxpayer. That way, he gets to keep his millions and the rest of us continue to get ripped off.
Peter McCormack 🏴‍☠️🇬🇧🇮🇪@PeterMcCormack

A minimum wage of £15 would end my coffee shop, it would have to close, as would many other businesses. I’ll explain for the economically illiterate. Staff costs are currently half our costs, a £15 minimum wage is actually more than £15 an hour for the company, because you have to add: - 12.07% holiday - Sick pay - Maternity pay if and when required - National insurance - Pension contributions These costs would mean the shop loses money because remember, energy costs are up, rates are up, regulations are up. Now you can pass these costs onto the consumer - that would mean charging a lot more for coffee, people won’t pay it. The likes of Starbucks and Costa can, because they have economies of scale. The independent doesn’t. Now the little socialist will say well this is your fault, if you can’t run a business that can afford to pay its staff properly, but the little socialist has never run a business and does not understand the dynamics. Now I could pay some staff off and fill those hours myself or reduce us to one staff member during certain periods - but this proves the point that a minimum wage costs jobs. There was a time when these jobs were done by kids, perhaps on the weekend, paid a lower wage, no holiday and no silly employment rights. Perhaps they were even paid cash. The dynamic worked and small businesses like this could operate. It was also a great first job. Sadly now it isn’t worth employing entitlement youngsters at this level of pay. So alas, I don’t need the stress, the business would close, a number of jobs would be lost. Economics is about understanding these dynamics, no vibes. The cost of living is not solved through passing on inflation to the business, it is solved by ending high inflation and creating prosperity. This is what socialists don’t understand, they can’t create prosperity, they can only destroy it.

If way less than a quarter of us supports the actions of Israel. Why does our entire political and media class? 🤔

This man is on his way out of office. With McSweeney and Mandelson gone, there’s no-one left to protect him from his own cabinet. But Keir Starmer doesn’t want you to know about his connections to the Israel Lobby. These are the individuals paying for his obedience:🧵

Good from @ZackPolanski; confirms that only the Greens have a correct diagnosis of our sluggish economy. 1. Tax wealth locked in non-productive sectors 2. Use that to reduce tax burden on SMEs 3. Increase worker pay = More money in real economy.

Zack Polanski’s bravery for Palestine 🇵🇸 is outstanding Refusing to yield to media intimidation: ‘I’ve not seen hate crimes’ ‘These are marches for peace’ ‘Outrageous slur on those marching’ ‘It’s the world upside down’ ‘Let’s deal in facts & evidence’ Well done Zack! 👏

My PhD was on Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the Labour Party. One mistake Corbyn made (which he has admitted) was trusting bad faith actors who ultimately were successful in damaging his leadership. Zack Polanski can, and must, avoid making the same (good faith) mistakes.

“In the depths of his own darkness, Niall Harbison found the light, not by turning away from his demons, but by facing them with courage and choosing to become someone else’s hope. From the brink of despair, he rose to become an angel for the forgotten: the street dogs of Thailand, and now Rocky, a soul pulled from the depths of despair himself and given a fighting chance. Your struggles didn’t break you, Niall, they forged you, they forged the compassion that saves lives today. In lifting up the broken, you remind us all that redemption isn’t just possible… it’s beautiful. Keep shining Niall, keep being you. The world needs more hearts like yours.” ❤️ Harry 👍

Turns out Rocky was a pretty good name. The comeback is staggering. This will make you beam from ear to ear I promise by the end of the video. Next week is all about his eyes. Step by step 🤞

A little puppy was abandoned and had been drawn on with marker by some children. Lee rescued her, bathed her, held and comforted her, then introduced her to his pack of adult dogs. From being anxious and tearful, Poppy quickly became cheerful and blended in 🐶💗
