Day 12: A simple check in with the students allows me to reconnect with them. Sometimes I use a quick write and share aloud to share events that happened over the weekend or break. I also share what I may have done over the break so they feel connected to me. #LISDchat

Day 11: I like to use exit tickets. They are a quick check in for me so I know where Ss are after a lesson. I quickly learn individual Ss understanding and can then structure my lessons around the needs of the Ss. #LISDchat

Day 10: I create a student centered culture by creating an environment where all Ss feel accepted, represented, and a safe. #LISDchat

Day 9: I try to tap into all learning modalities to spark interest about the topis with the Ss. #LISDchat

Day 8: Providing different sentence starters for Ss, modeling, and allowing for practice within the classroom. #LISDchat

Day 7: Teaching word parts is a great way to help native speakers as well as ELL's learn and understand academic vocabulary. #LISDchat

Day 6: Classroom meetings are a great way to form teacher student bonds as well as the students bonding with one another. Ss feel like they are part of the classroom and belong. #LISDchat

Day 5: Allowing time for wondering, questioning, and investigation moves students through higher order thinking naturally. #LISDchat

Day 4 We recognize our ss success with award ceremonies every nine weeks. #LISDchat

Day 3 Taking time to teach and practice classroom procedures and transitions allows for optimal instructional time throughout the year. #lisdchat

Day 2 Teaching students to be reflective about their own learning. #lisdchat

Day 1-Think, pair, share. I feel this strategy is a great way to get ss talking to one another and build confidence to share their ideas with the whole group #lisdchat
