while recycling is a good habit to get into, it’s also sadly the least efficient and sustainable of the 3 r’s, since it takes energy to process the recycled materials. #apeswaste @franklinlorax

The garbage that goes into this trash can will be picked up by a garbage truck and brought to the franklin landfill where the garbage will be layered and packed into the ground in order to create garbage mounds. @franklinlorax #apeswaste

In this lab, we combined CO2 and H2O, which are the same chemicals that cause ocean acidification. It was really interesting to see how the pH of water changes when it is mixed with carbon dioxide, the most prominent greenhouse gas in our atmosphere. @franklinlorax #apesair

My sink has a garbage disposal that grinds up food that when down the drain.However unlike a anaerobic digester, my garbage disposal doesn’t turn the unwanted food into energy. ☹️@franklinlorax #apesenergy
