A great side effect of @tropicalonrails is getting to welcome international speakers to our local meetup 🇺🇾 @rubymontevideo
Huge thanks to @inazarova @palkan_tula @skryukov_dev @evilmartians for making the trip down south!

Ruby Native comes with support for Inertia Rails apps 👀
Joe Masilotti@joemasilotti
This is now a reality. Ruby Native turns your existing Rails website into a native iOS app. Configure with YAML, preview on your iPhone, and ship to the App Store. Beta testers are getting apps in TestFlight the same day. And I am so freaking excited about it! Link below.

@alihfadel @dhh 37signals can't bring to Rails what they don't use, so it's up to us 😄
English

@skryukov_dev @dhh "most basic configuration possible of popular bundlers"
Isn't Vite one of the most popular 🤓
"I think vite is trying to do a lot"
Maybe because a lot is needed to be done?
I love the work done by 37signals and @dhh in general, but sometimes I feel they are holding Rails back.
English

@alihfadel @dhh So maybe, just maybe it's time to revive that issue 😄
English

@alihfadel I don't think we had a gem-less solution for Rails + Vite that plays by Propshaft's rules before. And @dhh rightfully rejected upstreaming vite-rails since it does too much. #issuecomment-961981357" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/rails/jsbundli…

"The navigation model is actually inspired by Inertia. I don't know how many of you use Inertia with Laravel but it's actually a pretty cool model that has never been seen in the JS world." 🤯

@domster @vite_js Proxy is the biggest one - it fixes a lot of networking issues, both in terms of DX and performance. Also single config file (only Vite) and 4× smaller code footprint overall. Fewer things to break, easier to reason about.
Might not worth migrating, but a better go-to solution.
English

@skryukov_dev @vite_js Is there any other major difference apart from it doesn’t proxy?
English

@hxtxmu @inazarova Hopefully not 😄 On our side, we're even keeping the 3.x version without bumping it.
