But reducing a complex, century-long conflict to a one-sided story of betrayal erases wars, rejected partition plans, and repeated cycles of violence that shaped today’s reality. Finally, inside Israel today, about 20% of the population is Arab. Arab citizens vote, serve in parliament (the Knesset), sit on the Supreme Court of Israel, and work across medicine, law, and business. Like any society, there are tensions and inequalities—but the claim that Arabs cannot live as full participants in Israel is simply not accurate. You can advocate strongly for Palestinian rights—and many people do—without erasing Jewish history, denying Mizrahi identity, or simplifying a deeply complicated conflict into a moral caricature.
