This might be a blazing hot take, but this is why I think in 99% of cases it's wrong to own a dog in an apartment.
These animals were bred for a purpose like herding sheep, catching rats, hunting, etc. They shouldn't spend 22-23 hours a day inside. A walk a day is not enough.

What I will add to this is people used to understand that dogs have specific purposes. There’s a reason the AKC groups them as hounds, guard, hunting, herding, etc. and you should know what you’re buying. I really really REALLY wanted a corgi but my husband told me that’s a herding dog and they need 3+ hours of exercise a day. So I’m not getting one. ☹️
