@leomastix i like to think the appearance is stagnant. It's as if this office space is genetically manufactured to be nightmarish to people. And I think it's because they are completely unnatural and artificial.

@sky_skyfish Do you think that’s actually how they would see it though or do you think it’s appearance changes depending on who’s observing it? So for a cave man it would be some space that is liminal for them in their daily life

No clipping into the #backrooms as a cave man must be 1000% more terrifying. Because at least we can recognise some of the components, but a cave man would literally have no idea what the walls around him even are. Like describing a dog to someone who has never seen one.

Something about how this type of interior design/ architecture traps people. Maybe because of the lack of windows or the hostel lighting. Like a genetic memory that distorts each generation #backrooms

Something interesting about this genre of #backrooms art is the idea that the yellow office space is a constant across time. I think it's because there is something about this type of space that is genetically wired into people to feel off-putting. Like the uncanny valley ...
