I apologize for straying away from my comedic format but I absolutely have to put my two cents in on this because of the sheer amount of insidious, vile, hateful, projection-esque QRTs I’ve seen regarding this post in the last 18 hours.
Religion as a whole is a very complex subject and because of that different people discover a variety of different avenues to cope with/resolve some of the most insurmountable physical and psychological feats that humans as a species have ever conceived. Wars have been fought over it. Dynasties have risen and fallen because of it. It is something, whether you like it or not, is a core part of what it means to be human for virtually everyone on the planet.
The fact that this person decided to stand up and make a statement explicitly catering to his own individual worldview, based off of his own respective experiences and interpretations as such, not intended to harm or demoralize others in any way, got such an egregious amount of backlash is appalling to me.
Do you have any idea how frequently I get total strangers attempting to “convert” me? Thinking they know more about my sexuality than I do because I crack jokes on the internet? I’ve seen some of the most shameless first-DMs imaginable because there is a very obvious unspoken rule here that homosexuality takes precedent and everyone else is ostracized right from the rip.
Furry is supposed to be about self-expression at the end of the day and y’all clearly have no issue with that when it comes to the most devious sexual fantasies imaginable but when someone takes a MORSEL of accountability because that’s what they genuinely feel is necessary to move forward with bettering their own individual life self expression is suddenly a foreign concept.
I stand with this person. Do better.
