Last week, a man died because he was “right.”
He was driving straight. His lane was clear. His speed was normal. He did nothing wrong.
Then suddenly, a bus jumped the median without warning.
The bus driver was wrong. Everyone agreed.
But the man in the car was the one they buried.
This is the first rule of defensive driving most Nigerian drivers don’t understand:
Never assume the other driver will do the right thing.
On Nigerian roads, assumptions can kill you.
That driver in front of you without brake lights?
He can stop suddenly.
That okada rider squeezing between cars?
He can fall.
That truck with shaky containers?
It can drop.
That driver indicating left?
He may still turn right.
Defensive driving is not about proving you are right.
It is about staying alive.
Many drivers approach the road with pride.
“If he tries nonsense, I will show him.”
But defensive drivers approach the road with awareness.
“If he tries nonsense, I will be ready.”
The graveyard is full of drivers who had the right of way.
Pride doesn’t stop accidents.
Preparation does.
The Federal Road Safety Corps can not sit beside every driver.
So you must protect yourself.
Slow down when you see danger early.
Increase your distance.
Watch behaviour, not signals.
Expect mistakes.
Because on Nigerian roads, the best driver is not the fastest.
It is the one who arrives home.
Drive safely

I love how the whole world is shaming Nigerians. Until y’all learn the act of moving in silence nobody will take you serious.
You don’t travel like the Indians or Chinese
You don’t do scam like the Indians or Chinese
You don’t own assets overseas like the Indians or Chinese
You don’t go to school like the Indians or Chinese
BUT, your stupid and lousy ass is all over the internet making a mess. FOOLS!

@DurojaiyeSegun This is so unnecessary, the matter has not even reached that level. Very excessive talk, you need to be more measured honestly.

MC Oluomo is loyal to K1.
K1 is loyal to Tinubu.
K1 & Wizkid are deeply rooted in Ijebu, & both have paid homage to the Awujale.
K1 commands the grassroots in Lagos Island (Isale Eko), while Wizkid holds it down in Surulere (Shitta).
Burna Boy burns 100 litres of fuel crossing 100 bridges from Port Harcourt to Lagos to hustle.
Lagosians have made the city habitable for him.
The day he attempt or touches Wizkid is the day his career would end inside Kuje maximum.

Just eight days after her 23rd birthday, Anike Agbaje-Williams became the first face to appear on a television screen, not just in Nigeria, but the whole of the African continent.
Born on October 23, 1936, in Abeokuta, British Nigeria, Agbaje-Williams grew up at a time when television and modern broadcasting were just starting in the country. As Nigeria moved towards independence, new media began to play an important role, and Anike was about to become part of history.
She went to school in Lagos and later in Ibadan, completing her studies in the early 1950s. In 1955, she began working with the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation in Ikoyi. Her first chance on air came unexpectedly when an announcer did not turn up, and she stepped in. Her clear voice and calm presence impressed everyone, marking the start of her career in broadcasting.
The most important moment of her life came on October 31, 1959, when Western Nigeria Television, or WNTV, was launched in Ibadan. Anike Agbaje-Williams became the first person to appear on television in Africa. She was also the first voice heard on the Western Nigeria Broadcasting Service. This made her the very first face and voice on African television.
She continued to work in broadcasting for more than 30 years. She took on roles as a presenter, producer, and director. She trained abroad in Europe and the United States to improve her skills. She helped set standards for Nigerian television and became a role model for future generations of broadcasters. She retired in July 1986.
Anike Agbaje-Williams passed away on February 26, 2025, in Ibadan. She was 88.
She is remembered as a pioneer of African television and one of Nigeria’s most important media figures. Her work opened the door for many others, and her place in history will always be remembered. #HistoryVille

Just In:
According to an independent investigative report, Gold is the major cause of banditry in northwestern Nigeria, and all of it is under-declared and illegally exported to Dubai; officially, only 64 kg is recorded, while over 16,000 kg is actually moved through girls, established routes, etc.. and ending up in Switzerland identitfied as Dubai gold. — Jude Bela
