Startup valuations aren’t what you think Early stage valuations aren’t about your idea. They’re about equity. Investors usually target 15–20%. The valuation? Just the math to get there. Raise more → higher valuation Same % → same dilution That’s how founders end up owning ~56% by seed. Valuation isn’t magic. It’s a formula. 👉Want to understand your startup valuation? Why founders leave millions on the table Selling your startup isn’t just about the company. It’s about the process. Many first time founders jump into acquisitions without a strategy. They don’t control information. They don’t create competition between buyers. And that can cost millions. A disciplined sale process can increase the final price by up to 30%. 👉 We help founders prepare for fundraising and strategy through Accelerate: vist.ly/4v3t8

The funding instrument that almost killed our startup Our first funding round was a convertible note. It’s fast, cheap but it’s also a loan. If you don’t raise the next round before the maturity date, investors can demand repayment. For a startup that’s still burning cash, that can be fatal. That’s why many founders now use SAFEs instead, similar structure, but without the repayment risk.                    👉Raising with a convertible note or SAFE? Make sure you actually know how much you need to raise and what it does to your runway: vist.ly/4uu62

The open source map tracking global conflicts A music streaming founder just built a powerful tool to track global conflicts. It’s called World Monitor. It combines: • aircraft transponders • satellite imagery • open source intelligence feeds All into one real time map. Unlike most intelligence platforms, it’s fully open source, anyone can verify the data or inspect the code. A tool built to cut through the noise. 👉 Would you trust open source tools to track global events?

@UltraHDBluray Glad we added a bit to the discourse. Thanks for adding more visibility. Overall in line with your clarifications! Would love your input in a couple future videos we’re planning (mainly around Dolby and aspect ratios).

It’s not communicated transparently what you get when you buy a title, so hard numbers aren't available but likely a majority are MEL, and I think only the FEL ones support 12-bit color, for what it’s worth, with 10-bit and 8-bit displays. 16/16

A lot of you may have seen this video by @slidebean . It contains a lot of interesting facts about movie production, but it gets a number of things wrong. There’s a lot to unpack here. 🧵 1/16 youtube.com/watch?v=yN0H_W…

Fundraising isn’t a cold email campaign One of the biggest founder mistakes? Blasting your pitch deck to strangers. Fundraising is a network game. Find investors in your space. Use LinkedIn to map mutual connections. Ask for a warm introduction. Access is earned, not spammed. 👉 Curious who’s investing in startups right now? Check our Investor Finder : vist.ly/4twet

The U.S. town where Wi-Fi is banned In West Virginia, microwaves and Wi-Fi can get you fined. You’re inside the National Radio Quiet Zone, home to the ultra sensitive Green Bank Telescope. It listens to the universe. So it needs radio silence. The problem? Modern tech has flooded the spectrum. The quiet zone isn’t so quiet anymore. 👉 Would you live somewhere without Wi-Fi for the sake of science?

Why substations matter more than you think An 800 MW nuclear plant doesn’t just “send electricity.” Power isn’t about more current. It’s about the ability to do work. You can move the same power two ways: • High current → thick cables → more heat loss • High voltage → lower current → less waste Substations raise the voltage so we can move massive energy efficiently without melting cables. Electricity isn’t just flow. It’s pressure and control. 👉 Visit our YouTube channel for more content

Why 15 minute videos are dying Shorts answer fast questions. 30 minute videos justify deep dives. 15 minutes? Stuck in between. Not snackable. Not immersive. Content doesn’t just compete on quality. It competes on time commitment. 👉 Do you think the 15 minute format is dying? Tell us what you think.

AI’s real bottleneck isn’t code Microsoft may reactivate Three Mile Island to power AI data centers. Sounds simple. It’s not. You can’t plug a data center into a nuclear plant. You need substations and transformers and those are backlogged for years in the U.S. AI’s constraint isn’t intelligence. It’s infrastructure. 👉 vist.ly/4sutp

Why most pitch decks fail After 2,500 submissions, three problems dominate: • No real traction • Lazy TAM math • Slides packed with text If investors can’t see proof in seconds, you’ve already lost them. Clarity > density. Bottom up math > big fantasies. You don’t have to fix this alone. 👉 Join Accelerate, where templates meet real feedback: vist.ly/4scd4

Hope is not a financial strategy Most founders think they have a revenue plan. They don’t. They have a growth assumption and a dragged formula. When I almost ran out of money, I realized something brutal: Bad modeling kills companies faster than bad product. If you can’t explain your runway, your burn, and your path to profitability in one spreadsheet, you’re not ready for investors. 👉 Learn how to build your model in our Financial Modeling Bootcamp: vist.ly/4sc6j

The real reason OpenAI fired its CEO. Part 1 OpenAI’s board wasn’t protecting shareholders. It was protecting a mission. When AI growth accelerated, governance collided with ambition. Sam Altman’s firing wasn’t chaos. It was a power struggle over who controls the future of AI. 👉 Visit our YouTube channel for more content.

The end of “free” social media?
Meta’s new subscription model reframes the deal users have always had with social platforms. Access was free, funded by your data.
Now privacy is optional and billable. This isn’t just monetization.
It’s a structural shift driven by regulation. When compliance pressures rise, business models evolve. 👉 Visit our YouTube channel for more content.

Same signal. Different wavelength. Different reality. At 12 cm, you get microwaves. At 500 nanometers, you get blue light. Same physics. Different input. Business works the same way. Revenue isn’t a guess, it’s driven by what you control. Change the inputs, change the outcome.

SpaceX doesn’t need an IPO. That’s why it matters. An IPO isn’t about survival for SpaceX. It’s about timing. With an $800B secondary valuation and growing institutional appetite, a 2026 listing near $1T+ wouldn’t just be historic. It would unlock stalled capital markets. For years, late stage startups have delayed IPOs due to volatility and weak public market sentiment. One successful mega offering changes that psychology overnight. Because markets move on confidence. If SpaceX goes first, others may follow. 👉 If you're thinking about raising capital in the next 12–24 months. Stop forecasting revenue like this  Revenue last month × 110% = disaster waiting to happen. If your forecast doesn’t explain why revenue grows, it’s not a forecast. Real growth comes from:  • Paid marketing spend  • Sales hires  • Conversion rates  • Customer acquisition cost Model the drivers.  Not the vibes. That’s how you build numbers that make sense. 👉Stop guessing your numbers with the Financial Modeling Bootcamp: vist.ly/4rdgg.             👉Take a look at the free lesson: vist.ly/4rdgj

Humanoid robots don’t fail at tasks. They fail at presence. The hardest part of building humanoid robots isn’t hardware. It’s designing something humans feel comfortable interacting with. Fauna’s approach flips the usual playbook, focusing less on strength and more on social awareness. Their bet is simple: People won’t pay for robots that work harder. They’ll pay for robots that feel right. 👉What makes this work isn’t the robot, it’s the story behind it : If you’re pitching an AI startup, join our live webinar on how to clearly communicate your value to investors vist.ly/4qydf
