Client work gets messy not because you’re bad — but because most freelancers are juggling contracts, invoices, payments, and follow-ups manually. We’re researching a calmer way to handle this at Slipdeck. If you do client work and have thoughts, my DMs are open.

Solo dev building SaaS while working a day job. I'm looking to connect with other indie builders to bounce ideas with. Feedback, random questions, whatever. What are you building?

It's Monday. We don't need more motivation. We need better systems. If your week starts with: • "Where's that contract?" • "Did I send that invoice?" • "What did we agree on again?" ❌ Not a productivity problem. ✅ An admin problem. Fix the backend. The week gets lighter.

@MishtifyMov Many editors and clients think revisions are a skill issue. 😅 More often, it’s a process issue.

How to get fewer revisions as a video editor : 1.Ask questions to the client first. Mind-reading is unpaid work. 2.Spell check. Always. 3. Watch it twice. Trust me. 4. Use brand colors. Behave. 5. If it needs explaining, it’s wrong. yes , boring steps but these work 😭🙌🏻

Unlimited revisions don’t make you professional. They make you exhausted. Tweaks are fine. Changing direction over and over is unpaid strategy work. If you don’t define the difference, clients will exploit it without realizing.

@holicanthh “Make it however you want” usually means “we didn’t define it clearly.” That’s where things started breaking.

@holicanthh That’s frustrating. Volunteer or not, expectations should be clear before the work starts. 🤦‍♂️

This is why we're so passionate about systems. Too many talented freelancers are getting burned—not because they lack skill, but because they lack boundaries. Here's what actually protects you: 🧵

Freelancers don’t need more hustle advice. Most of us aren’t lazy. We’re just operating without systems. When your work has: • Structure • Clear workflows • Defined boundaries You stop grinding… and start scaling.

I used to feel productive just because I stayed busy. Tasks everywhere. Nothing finished. What changed wasn’t effort. It was intention. Progress starts when every task has a target. — SlipDeck

Is it only me finding it difficult to get payments from my clients? How am I stranded at the beginning of the year? Why are they paying small, small and making the money hard to deploy to major commitments? Why are some not even picking up their phones even? When a client says, the money has been sent to your account, doesn't that signify full payment? Why am I receiving 100k out of the whole money? Make it make sense!

@JudithPearce1 • Take action if your boundaries are consciously being ignored (like halting work due to incomplete payment or charging extra for excessive reviews and edits) Also clearly remind them of your agreements hen they fail to keep their end. These should help reduce such issues 😊

@JudithPearce1 You're not alone It happens to a lot of service providers out here. The solution? A client management structure That protects both our and the client. Try these 3 things • Always take advance before starting work • use clear contracts including Scope & payment terms and...
