@Dr_da_Vinci @intellegint If your patients keep coming back to the hospital critically ill, that’s on you and whoever else is involved in their care. Most patients I see in the ICU ended up there for plenty of reasons beyond adherence to treatment. Your cynicism about patients is disappointing.

@Dr_da_Vinci @intellegint Rarely is it simply that they’re not smart enough to know they need the meds or refuse to take them.

I swear to god like half of my patients in the ICU always have some kind of crisis due to not having their meds because of insurance issues and it leads to them being in the fucking ICU. Fucking hate this dumbshit country.

Learning about the science/skeptic people getting incriminated in the parts of the Epstein files has been a fun distraction for me.

@intellegint Started psychiatry residency in 2018. A year and a half into being an attending and I can relate. My wife’s a nurse, graduated the same day I graduate med school, and she’s always cooking up ideas to get away from it. Yet her plans usually include a little bit of nursing.

Just realized as of today I’ve been a nurse for 6 years. It SUCKS and every shift is PAIN, yet I’m now at a point where I am very comfortable in it and am glad I do it

Knowing that smoking is the most common cause of bladder cancer likely isn’t going to help any of my patients but it’ll help me pass this board certification exam that’ll get me a job that allows me to help patients with all sorts of real problems.
