Just got a call from my oncologist. They are going to start me on fentanyl patches. Also, the genetic results from that tumor biopsy I had a few weeks ago are finally in and there’s an additional drug they can add to my chemo that might help slow this cancer down.🤞🙏
Just another day living with cancer… an unwanted houseguest. Tech asked me how many bone scans I had undergone. I figure close to 20 plus… and it doesn’t get easier.😏Thank you Canadian healthcare for keeping me going. Thinking of everyone battling a combative disease. #cancer
@KyuKim77297795@annamaria1word Not so, I sleep well at night with the olazapine and can at least function for the first few days with the zofran, doesn’t cause any drowsiness.
@annamaria1word That’s great! I live in Nova Scotia and dex is part of the protocol from the beginning. Interferes with sleep a bit but makes a big difference in those first few days. 8mg then 4mg for two days
@annamaria1word Have you been on dexamethasone for nausea? Probably but worth asking if you haven’t. I use Zofran and gravol and it doesn’t really cut it sometimes either.
I’m not sure if it’s the new meds or all your thoughts and prayers, but I am actually feeling pretty OK today. I managed to do some light chores and watch some TV and feel happy.
@annamaria1word I’m on my second course of chemo, hair is just about all gone. But nice scarves, touque and a lovely wig really help. Kick this cancer’s ass!
Happy Monday. It’s not the best one for me. I really don’t feel well. And I start a new chemo tomorrow that is going to make me lose my hair. It has a very small chance of being effective at all. I noticed my leg muscles are wasting away. Friends, I used to have shapely gams. 😞
@annamaria1word Very maddening. I have seen some of your posts. I live in Canada, same bs here with all the conspiracies. I have stage 4 colon cancer and just started my 2nd 6 months on a new chemo. Also hoping for the HIPEC surgery eventually but for now it's chemo for life. Stay strong!
So many people blaming my cancer on getting “the jab.” I just can’t deal with this anti-science BS. A vaccine did not give me a rare, aggressive cancer. A defective appendix did.
(Fire) Fire crews responded to a fence and brush fire near Dartmouth Cove last night.
A chat with a local resident suggests that once again fireworks were involved - not confirmed)
Once again, consumer fireworks use in the province is currently banned.
@nspowerinc My meter was read this week but why is my bill a compilation of past readings that were guesses? I was also charged interest when we were told there would be none.
@smacns Hi there. You can definitely wait until you receive a bill for a meter reading. We are still working toward full functionality of our systems and billing will resume as soon as possible. No late payment fees or service disruptions will take place at this time. Take care!
@nspowerinc if my latest bill is a guess based on past usage, why is it higher than last year? Why wouldn’t it be the same? Can I wait to pay until I have the correct bill based on my meter? How will I know when it has been corrected?
@smacns Hi There, great question. The calculation is based on a few different factors, not just an exact copy of the previous year's bill. We can take a closer look at your bill if you like. Just send us a DM with your account info and we'll check on it.
@CanadianHero84@globalhalifax My kw hours increased by 8.6 per day above my usage last year. The brutal continuous cold we had during this cycle certainly accounts for it. Even if it’s your oil furnace motor running full tilt. Usage will be up and cost more
@globalhalifax Could be because it’s been -20 for the past two months. It has barely warmed up since Christmas with some pretty cold windchills, and everyone now heats with electricity.
