Celtae (@GamesPythagoras) is a stunning looking Euro game that uses a rondel to drive the action selection system. Low rules overhead is a big plus.

Defenders of the Wild is coming next year! I first started working on this game in 2017 but the collaborations with @HenryAudubon on game design and Meg Lemieur on illustration have finally brought it to life this year. So grateful for our team on this one 🖤🔥 @blocbybloc

The card algorithm is designed so that all cards are technically balanced (so no pay to win) but the nuance of the tactics will create desirability within the context of the game, your 10-card deck, and the meta. Onward! #boardgames #ai #cardgames

A delightful cast of 12 Bards from Bardwood Grove. All have unique instruments and song decks. Which one would you pick? 🪕🎺🎷🎸🥁🪘🎤🎶

@belltowergames “Oh cool, a pivot table.” :) Jokes aside, I do love being able to eyeball a new game and be able to infer (or make educated guesses about) some of the key gameplay elements.

Today's game design blog post is the ease with which a game can be "sight-read". Many games have a zillion icons, board spaces, piece types, and you'd never infer just from looking at it what is happening in the game, which generates little engagement. boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/13170…
