Michelle and I are heartbroken by the tragic passing of Rob Reiner and his beloved wife, Michele. Rob’s achievements in film and television gave us some of our most cherished stories on screen. But beneath all of the stories he produced was a deep belief in the goodness of people—and a lifelong commitment to putting that belief into action. Together, he and his wife lived lives defined by purpose. They will be remembered for the values they championed and the countless people they inspired. We send our deepest condolences to all who loved them.
Chicago is where Michelle was raised, where I got my start as an organizer, and where we built a family together. When the Obama Presidential Center opens next June, it will be our way to give back to a city that has given us so much.

Kind of weird when I get truly sick of the nonsense perpetrated on us all by so called politicians, I end up binge watching The West Wing, a show about how politics and politicians could be.
Im not sure what that says about me.
🔵 This evening we show our support for World Arthritis Day by illuminating Lagan Valley Island and Union Bridge blue.
Arthritis affects over 500,000 people in Northern Ireland. Many experience severe pain, fatigue, and reduced mobility every day, affecting their ability to work, care for family and live independently.
Cllr Brian Higginson, Corporate Services Chairman, expressed his support saying, "The lives of many families are touched by arthritis across our community. Raising awareness and supporting those affected is vital, and I commend the work of Versus Arthritis in providing help and hope to so many."
"It’s important those living with arthritis know they are not alone! Support is available to help them manage their condition and continue to lead fulfilling lives."
Versus Arthritis offers practical support through a range of services. These include information about the conditions, self-management advice, exercise programmes, online communities and how you can get involved.
