Brennan Phillips did a totally pro job of pitching to the score, and just making Arizona State have to swing the bat. Every pitcher would like to strike out every hitter, but when you have a lead, sometimes missing barrels is better than trying to miss bats. Phillips showed a very slow heartbeat, and just kept executing, which made a potentially stressful situation one that ended up being pretty routine. He brought the team home and didn't give up a run.
