6/ The Digital Weaver introduces a discipline to design for this reality: • See systems as interacting threads • Detect strain before failure • Design for coherence under change • Integrate AI with trust and governance

1/ Digital systems fail long before they break. They fail when they stop holding together. This is the idea behind The Digital Weaver. Today, I am launching it. 🧵

The Internet is more than cables & code. It is the fabric that holds our societies together. But like any fabric, it can fray. I am working on a concept of digital system design that aims to strengthen this weave with purpose, trust, & endurance. Which threads should come first?

The question is not if another crisis will come. It will. The real question: will the weave hold, or fray along the same old lines? We need an Internet built with purpose, trust, and endurance. How do we strengthen it for the future? #theinternet

In 2020, the world shut down. One thing kept us connected, learning, working, healing, and even saying goodbye. A short thread on how the Internet became our loom of resilience and the gaps we must close before the next crisis. linkedin.com/posts/madanapa…

@venkyreviews Little Hearts, I am sure a high-entropy movie, feels dangerous to me from social media buzz. Haven’t watched it, but I bet it mocks studies & parents with flashy romance & antics. Glorifies skipping class & rebellion. Producers cash in, but at what cost to youth?

#LittleHearts (Little late due to show availability): A Simple Fun Rom-Com that Entertains! Little Hearts takes a while to find its rhythm and starts off a bit flimsy, but once it gets going it’s filled with witty one liners and enjoyable moments throughout. The film’s storyline itself is thin, with only a few light conflict points and some rushed portions (particularly the climax). Still, the film’s main intention is to entertain in a light hearted way, and it succeeds in doing just that, with a nostalgic setting many can relate to. Director Sai Marathand does a neat job crafting an engaging screenplay that never takes itself too seriously, relying on humor and a lighthearted narration. Another big asset is the music by Sinjith. The songs and background score are spot on for the tone of the film and elevate several key moments. Mouli delivers his role with ease and is a delight to watch on screen. Shivani also does well in her role, while Jaya Krishna stands out with a hilarious performance. The supporting cast does their part effectively. This is a film the entire family can enjoy. Though it doesn’t offer much in terms of storyline or surprising twists, it succeeds in delivering a light, fun watch. Rating: 3/5

@elonmusk Using the internet isn't the same as running it. The internet was built to be free & decentralized; perhaps the bots are testing that vision. The internet is designed to connect 'everything' in the interplanetary system. The only question is who is controlling these 'things'.

No language can be learned by force. A prime example of this is Gujarat. People here don’t force you to learn the local language or adopt the local culture. Even in rural villages of Gujarat, many people don’t know Hindi, yet if you speak to them in Hindi, they’ll still try to communicate with you in their broken Hindi. They never make you feel like an outsider. There are nearly a million Kannadigas living in Gujarat, and I bet none of them has ever faced language-based discrimination. The magic is, Gujarati as a language is still thriving. Migrants are learning Gujarati and adopting the culture willingly. They take part in Garba during Navratri and even prepare Gujarati dishes at home. When you give love and respect to the people who come to your state and contribute to your economy, they will naturally adopt your language and culture. But if you try to force it upon them, it only spreads hatred.

@theskindoctor13 Why must central govt employees speak only Hindi & English? Why not other languages? There is a systematic push to impose Hindi on other states: this risks India’s unity. English + local languages will drive India forward, locally & globally. #LanguageDiversity #India

Karnataka SBI Language Issue: 1. As per Constitution, central govt employees are mandated to know only Hindi and English. 2. In the context of banking, RBI guidelines mandate the use of local languages for signage, forms, and hiring local staff to bridge communication gaps with the public. But even RBI guidelines do not "mandate" that central govt employees must speak the local language of every state they are posted to. 3. Such a demand is logistically impractical. They might be posted in Karnataka today, Kerala tomorrow, and later in Himachal or Bengal. Expecting them to learn a new language every few years is unfeasible. 4. For decades, central govt employees have worked across diverse regions without linguistic friction. There has always been local staff, security guard, or a fellow customer to help overcome language barriers. The recent surge in language-based objections is simply politically motivated. 5. If there's a genuine concern about language compatibility, the appropriate course is to petition the state govt, which can then take it up with the Centre through proper channels. If their services are not welcome, states are free not to avail them, open accounts in your local bank, boycott SBI, but making employees scapegoats for larger political narratives helps no one. 6. Dear Kannadigas, yours is a civilization that is thousands of years old. There have been periods in history when external forces attempted to suppress your language and culture by the sword, yet you endured. If you could withstand such existential threats in the past, there is no way your culture or language can be under threat now. No one is imposing Hindi on you; this narrative is politically motivated. At a time when far more serious challenges confront us, it is unwise to be divided over issues that are, in the larger context, relatively minor. Let us not allow our internal differences to become a source of strength for those who wish to see us perish.

@ThePlacardGuy The issue is the systematic push of Hindi in other states. This risks India’s unity & progress. Respect all languages, prioritize local ones & English, and let individuals choose other languages to learn. #LanguageDiversity #India

I’m once again saying, Come to Delhi, and don’t speak in Hindi if you don’t know/want, speak in English or sign language or whatever convenient. Nobody will be rude to you for not talking in Hindi. And certainly nobody would tell you that you came to delhi to beg. We know if you came to delhi for work, it’s because delhi people were not skilled enough for that task, that’s why someone who knew the job better than a Delhiite got that job/started that business. No hate for not speaking in Hindi, you’re all welcome! And it’s not just Delhi who is giving you job/bread/money, it’s both ways, you’re giving employment to Delhiites too, the cabbies, sabzi walas, delivery boys, your house’s owner, everyone is earning their living because of you. So, we’re thankful that you choose Delhi as your destination. Enjoy your time here! Cheers.
