somehow this site has become less functional and more buggy since I left. Well done.

@wizards_magic MtG Arena is unusable and I don't know how you haven't fixed this yet. I will be looking for other places I can leave a poor review of the product. Well done.

@wizards_magic This has been a complaint about arena for more than 5 years. If there was a way to substantially increase the text size temporarily, this would be fine (the right click method doesn't magnify enough). As it is I no longer have any interest in the game.

@wizards_magic @wizards_magic was looking at some recent releases. Pkanned to make a deck and try it out on arena. I downloaded arena and started to play. I found there was no way to increase the font size. This makes the product very inaccessibl. I am now uninstalling.

@AnthemBCBS It isn't my information, it is a different person with my name but I get the emails.

@HHSOCR @AnthemBCBS you keep on sending me emails for a completely different person about their medical claims. I have tried to bring this to your attention. Is this not a HIPAA violation?

@MDofGames did you order your Hubworld: Aidalon preview deck? Also, there is a tts mod. Let me know if you want to play.

@poojavnair lol, I am a meat eater and I think this position is stupid. Unless of course the meat eater in question has a condition which requires that they consume meat. Like if they are a cat or something.

@littmath @pfau This is shocking to read. Feels like it will be the end of the sciences in the US. Granted, I am unaware of how much funding private companies provide to Chemistry and physics departments. But ... I don't know how these departments will hope to function.

Preliminary budget request includes up to 66% budget cut to NSF apparently. Seems bad. (h/t @pfau)

@BarbaraFantechi Agreed, I do not know what it is good for. It does not indicate success in mathematics. It probably indicates some level of success, but household income probably does better. Do you know why they started? Was it a cold war thing?

Whatever you think of how the American people voted, I think they’d be surprised to hear that they voted to “fire every scientist in the government.”

went on a 5-plus-minute rant about some mathematical text that used the phrase “an empty set”. There’s only one empty set! All empty sets are equal! Call it *the* empty set!!!

@littmath You sure about that? Seems to me folks used to think there was only one infinity or one geometry or one square root of 9. Might lead to something interesting to assume otherwise.

@LevyAntoine ... Mathematicians may not actively open up Euclid to thumb through it, but for sure they most likely read at some point during their education.

The whole point of a scientific discipline is to make progress on the issues it studies so that some knowledge becomes obsolete. It’s exactly why mathematicians don’t read Euclid but English professors keep reading Shakespeare (and both are good and reasonable).

Me as my cancer gets cured by a new immunotherapy: sure but has the doctor read the entire works of Empedocles? Otherwise I fear he might not have historicized his methods of knowledge production enough
Alex Moskowitz@alexrmoskowitz

many have been asking me why economics is not a real discipline. it is not a real discipline because it hasn't properly historicized it's own methods of knowledge production. this was made clear by the economist who hadn't read marx or smith.

This is pretty incredible. More recent birth cohorts have greater cranial volumes, more gray matter, and larger hippocampuses. Newer generations have bigger brains!
