Actually it’s really rather normal, even for commissions. I have frequently requested for various artist who are open for commission for their WeChat and they have obliged. As long as they are open for comms and you explain clearly why you require their WeChat it is typically fine. While yes many use WeChat for personal communication, you can have several WeChat accounts. In addition, if you scan the account’s QR code you have NO access to their personal mobile number
