I hope they do a Fast and Furious show that’s like Andor where it’s oddly politically prescient.

4 new live-action ‘FAST & FURIOUS’ TV shows are in the works at Peacock. “For the last decade, we have realized that the fans have wanted more. They wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories.” — Vin Diesel.

@crescendogames9 @starwarsslop Clearly is a thing considering its in the movie
English

@snazzgiraffe @starwarsslop Yeah that’s not a thing.
Why are they actually there?
English

@crescendogames9 @starwarsslop None of them did outside of the ones we already know about. I assume that was just the force using the voices of past jedi as opposed to their literal consciousnesses being there
English

@starwarsslop Okay, when Rey is looking up at the sky, at the end.
Did Mace Windu do the training to bring over his consciousness?
Did Kanan freaking Jarrus?
English

@spumdonor @CooperMode Or stuff like Anakin building c3po or Yoda and Chewbacca being friends
English

@CooperMode There’s definitely stuff in the prequel trilogy that was reflective of what was already popular in the franchise, though, like Django Fett. When we see boba fett as a little kid & it’s supposed to be a moment, that’s that same kind of audience pandering I’m describing
English

One bad influence of the Star Wars prequels I never hear anyone mention, not even RLM, is the normalization of Prequels. They existed before Phantom Menace but were extremely rare. Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom just treats itself like a sequel anyway. I think Hollywood decided they loved prequels because you're basically making a sequel, but there's even less pressure to come up with new stuff. Mostly they just come up with "origins" for things people already know. Audiences decided they liked prequels because they get to feel smart for recognizing references ("Easter Eggs") to stuff they already know about. Every prequel has clickbait lists of this stuff - people look forward to it, it's a game. At the end of "Wonka" (2023) Timothee Chalamet opens the last chocolate bar his mom made and there's a golden ticket with a message from her. "Ohhh! Ah-ha!!" we say. "So THAT'S how he got the idea for the golden tickets!!" Screw that. Every prequel is full of that crap & all it does is explain away anything that was special from the original films, anything that made you use your imagination. & of course unlike the Star Wars prequels virtually all prequels aren't made by anyone related to the original films, either. They also have less creative risk than a sequel by definition because a sequel moves things forward, things can change. At the end of a prequel everything has to wind up at the status quo of the film that preceded it. Prequels have the pretension that they're more substantial than sequels, but they're just as creatively bankrupt on average, if not more so.

@asapdre_96 @MasteroftheTDS Easy way to distinguish. It still aired on netflix and "Disney Daredevil" or "Marvel TV Daredevil" don't really make it clear what you are referring to specifically
English

@MasteroftheTDS Why does everyone call it ‘Netflix’ Daredevil. It was only distributed on Netflix. Disney still handled production. It was still a Disney show under the old Marvel TV.
English

I've recently been rewatching the Netflix Daredevil show before Disney's Daredevil: Born Again.
There's genuinely no comparison. The Netflix version clears Born Again in basically every category: lighting, choreography, atmosphere, dialogue, characters, even the way scenes were shot. Everything was done with such care, and even in the not-as-good episodes, it shines through.
It honestly sucks knowing we'll probably never get another superhero show that reaches that level again.
Rewatching it just reminds you how special that run actually was.

English

@GabrielSobrosa4 @MasteroftheTDS I disagree when it comes to the original run's more practical approach and real one take scenes. I've enjoyed a lot of the fight sequences in BA, especially the one with swordsman, but I just don't think they compare in my opinion
English

@MasteroftheTDS Not when it comes to fight choreography, and that counts for a lot in a comic book adaptation

@kinnerkwan @GrimWizill @spidermanfan85 @DiscussingFilm Nope, they have contracts with WB and generally a lot more loyalty towards Villenueve. Marvel being bullies and moving their movie to the same day doesn't mean they should take screens from Dune 50% of the time. They're doing the right thing here
English

@GrimWizill @spidermanfan85 @DiscussingFilm Agreed but why doesn’t have to be either or?
IMAX could have and should have split the screening equally.

POV: you have to go to the conference room half way through your 8 and a half hour shift to watch the mandatory annual Who We Are corporate review video (complete with awkward transition into sky full of stars by coldplay)

@nesleehan5 A movie with a big budget about a celeb nobody outside of Europe knows is a tough one to succeed tbf

I think musical biopics should be more than “actor looks a lot like the subject” and then a play through of their greatest hits.

@Jahninjago03 @GeneratorRexy How is this not crediting Nick? Because he wasn't there for some random press shoot? I feel like you are assuming they excluded him on purpose when there's a million reasons he might not have been at this
