I'm happy to share a recording of my inaugural lecture on 'Language Diversity & Social (In)Justice' for anyone who missed it or watched online and found that the slides weren't working (which has been fixed in the recording). Feel free to share: youtube.com/watch?v=SgEaUO…

@voice21oracy Thanks! Just to clarify: the payment of £30 is only for those attending f2f. Demand has FAR exceeded my expectation for the virtual workshop (and I don't have the budget...). Rather than turn anyone away tho, I'll run more than one virtual session.

Looking forward to connecting with teachers & colleagues today at an @NEUnion @The_UKLA event on Literacy in Primary Classrooms. @ian_cushing & I will be imagining futures of linguistic justice (tho I’ll be the Debby Downer talking about deficit perspectives first!)

In Palestine we used to say 'if only the world could see the Nakba of 1948 and the role of Britain in the land theft of Palestine'. We were actually wondering if things would have been different? 77 years later we know the answer. We also see the role of Britain then and now

I often think about how humanitarians in Rwanda said 'If only the world could see, if only they knew — they would act.' Well, the world does see Gaza. The world knows. And there will be no excuses when the reckoning comes. The trials will last for years.
