@Real_JSN Reading the article, it seems that is a framing device, the hobbits retelling the missing 6 chapters of the barrow-downs from the books that were cut from FOTR. (like Old Bilbo bookending the hobbit films). If so( and with colbert involved) I'm cautiously optimistic.

Stephen Colbert is co-writing the script.
