Maira Asrar is our treasurer for @soar_uw. She is a Faculty of Arts, Masters of Economics student at UW. Her interests include macroeconomic topics mainly focused on macroeconomic policies. She likes going for walks, cooking, & hanging out with friends & their cats.

Mohammad Shushtari is a PhD(c) in the Dept of Mechanical and Mechatronics @WaterlooENG. He is developing exoskeleton controllers that can enhance the locomotion of people with neuromuscular impairments. He is also interested in Robotics, Sensor Fusion, & Reinforcement Learning.

Hajr is a PhD student @UWaterlooKHS. Her research aims to understand the complex relationship b/w gait & cognition to identify subclinical predictors of neurodegenerative diseases. Outside of research, she enjoys spending time w/ friends, reading, & taking care of her pet bunny.

Hajr Hameed and Mohammad Shushtar are the event-co-leads for @soar_uw. #SoAR2023

@KarenHajj1 is a PhD student @UWaterlooSPHS - Aging, Health and Well-Being Program. Karen’s research interests are labour in long-term care, quality of care in long-term care homes, and cost analysis of health policies. Karen’s hobbies include baking and collecting Legos.

@TaraKuhn5 is a PhD Candidate @UWaterlooKHS. Her research looks at how lifestyle factors promote health in aging population. Her thesis will look at promoting sleep in persons living w/ dementia. When she isn't doing research, Tara is reaching new heights while rock-climbing.

Congratulations to @aadekoya_busola, winner of the RIA Innovative Research Award at the Symposium on Aging Research yesterday! Busola presented her work entitled Exploring the Ethical and Legal Concerns Associated with the Release of Personal Information in Community ASAP.👏
