Ever heard of Palantir? Here's why it matters: Palantir is a US software company. It specialises in data products, used widely by governments for surveillance, intelligence and military purposes. In January 2024, Palantir signed a contract with the Israeli military to use its technology in support of “war-related missions.” Palantir has a deep relationship with US law enforcement. It supplies ICE with tools that can be used for surveillance and targeting of migrants in the US. Now, that same company is working at the heart of the UK National Health Service. Palantir has already received £330 million of our money for its contract with our NHS England. Health workers and patients have been ringing the alarm for years: this is not right. What’s happening in Gaza is an ongoing genocide. We shouldn’t have a company linked to human rights abuses have anything to do with the health of patients in the UK and the public health system. Scoliosis death blamed on Children's Health Ireland failure -✍️ John Mooney Chloe Maher 23, was 'aged out' of receiving essential operation Orla Maher, Chloe’s aunt, told The Sunday Times that her niece’s death had destroyed their family. “Chloe’s death was entirely preventable. She died in pain. People born with scoliosis are being let down by the government. They are left until it’s too late to operate and then they vanish from the system because they age out of child care services and into adult care.” Despite repeated promises from former health ministers, including Simon Harris [@SimonHarrisTD] who promised in 2017 that no child would be left waiting for scoliosis surgery, the reality on the ground remains a landscape of cancelled appointments and bureaucratic hold-ups. Campaigners say at least five other young children died because they did not receive timely spinal surgery or due to post-operative infections and complications. #RIPChloe #CHI #TempleStreet #CHI #Scoliosis #BackUS #SimonHarris #JusticeforHarvey #JusticeForSophie thetimes.com/article/897b93…
